To do this you need:

Prepare 2 ceramic pots and 5 trays. In the center of the large and small pallets you need to drill a hole for the pipes, and then cover all the items with waterproof varnish. You can also make several cuts along the edges of the pallets, which will ensure beautiful drainage of water.

To make this fountain you needed:

We install a bowl in the prepared hole and place bricks in it, closer to the edges. They are needed for the stability of the structure and to reduce the amount of pebbles. They also serve as support for the stone structure. Between the installed bricks we place a pump with a tube on, pour in water and check how it works.

Holes were pre-drilled in the slabs in the workshop. They should be located approximately in the center so that the weight of the stones does not overturn the structure.

The first slab rests on lying bricks, the rest are strung so that the center of gravity does not shift. Having laid the first one, we fill the remaining space with pebbles. After the last piece is laid, a mark is made on the pipe. The very last stone is removed, the pipe is cut down just below the mark, then the last fragment is returned to its place. When the water is turned on, it seems to come straight out of the stone. Very unusual and uncomplicated.

The next version of a small fountain is made according to the same principle, only a flexible hose is used instead of a pipe, and driftwood is used instead of a stone. The effect was simply wonderful.

A piece of bamboo - about 70 cm long (bought at a flower shop, sold as a support for climbing plants), a bunch of living growing bamboo and a number of small pebbles. First of all, cut a piece of bamboo into pieces of different lengths. It is hollow inside - these are natural pipes, which also do not rot for a long time. One of the sides should have an oblique cut, the other should have an even cut. You cut it so that the longest piece near the evenly cut end has a “joint”. The lower incision goes approximately 5 mm below this thickening. There is simply a partition inside, with its help it will be easy to attach this segment to the pump outlet. It is difficult to cut, but I managed to saw through the thin trunk with a metal blade.

We put a small pump in the vessel, put the longest piece of bamboo on it - its length is about 35 cm. On the other side we put a bunch of living bamboo, filling the space between them with pebbles.

We tie the two remaining pieces of dry bamboo to our “pipe”. You can use hemp rope. That's all, we made a mini fountain with our own hands. All that remains is to add water and turn on the pump.

We begin the assembly of the entire structure with the manufacture of a check valve.

Construction of a check valve. We prepare a check valve from a Ø 50mm plug. We drill several holes around the perimeter of the plug Ø 5-6mm. In the center we drill a hole of suitable diameter for a screw-nut pair or rivet.

On the inside of the plug we place a rubber disk Ø 50mm. The disc should not rub against the walls of the plug, but should cover all drilled holes. We tighten it in the center with a screw-nut or rivet; a screw will not work. If difficulties arise with materials or manufacturing, you can replace it with a factory-ready check valve.

Preparing the pump sleeve. The length of the sleeve should be commensurate with the depth of the well or container with water. We cut the PVC sewer pipe Ø 50mm to the required length, from the narrow end. We insert the newly made valve into the pipe socket. For reliability, we fasten it on both sides with self-tapping screws.

For the second end we prepare a plug with a pre-drilled hole Ø 25mm. This hole in the plug is made according to the diameter of the PPR pipe Ø 24. Great precision is not required, the plug serves as a sliding support.

Piston assembly procedure. Cut off the spout of an empty silicone container. Next, you need to heat the balloon and insert the sleeve into the PVC so that the diameter of the balloon exactly matches the diameter of the sleeve. Place the silicone can on the valve from the reverse side of the arrow (the arrow on the check valve shows the direction of water movement).

We cut off the excess balloon. We secure it with a union nut no. 15.

Pump rod design. The length of the rod should be 50-60 cm greater than the length of the sleeve. You need to heat one end of the rod and insert a check valve. The arrow on the check valve should point towards the inside of the stem. Until the pipe has completely cooled down, we tighten it with a screw clamp.

Final assembly of the pump. We insert the rod into the sleeve and attach a plug (sliding support) through the coupling on top. To top it off, we attach a 24mm PPR bend to the end of the rod pipe. All you have to do is connect the hose and you can pump water.

In our case, a waterfall is being built, and therefore if your landscape does not provide for any elevation, then you will need to do it yourself!

Moreover, it is quite convenient to create an embankment on the site while digging a pit. To do this, you just need to dump the excavated soil at the place where you are going to place the future slide, followed by compaction. At the same time, do not forget to make a small groove in the embankment and the wall of the pit, where the hose will be placed in the future.

As soon as the embankment and pit are completely ready, we proceed to installing waterproofing material on the walls and bottom of the future reservoir. PVC film is great for this, but you can also use other materials. It is necessary to place the canvas so that the material, in addition to completely covering the walls and lower part, also protrudes approximately 50 centimeters on the sides.

Be sure to place the tube for pumping water into the upper section in advance, then bend one side 30-40 centimeters up.

Since a fountain-waterfall is considered a permanent structure on the site, it would be more correct to concrete the created thicket. To do this, carefully unfold the metal mesh along the bottom of the pit. In this case, it is impossible for the waterproofing material to be accidentally damaged during the work. After this, the concrete mixture is poured to create a 12-15 cm layer.

The next step is to prepare the walls of the reservoir. A mesh is placed, which is then fixed in the still liquid concrete. After this, the walls are filled with concrete and the most complex construction process will be completed. You can return to creating a waterfall fountain in a day, when the concrete has hardened.

After a day, you can move on to decorating the artificial pond. Steps are created right there on the compacted hill. 3 will be quite enough, and the width of each should be at least 25-30 centimeters!

Pebbles, sandstone or some other material that you like best is placed on ready-made flat surfaces. The remaining components of the waterfall fountain are decorated with marble, crushed stone, cobblestones or just stone. The same applies to the film that remains around the perimeter of the reservoir.

In the end, you just have to start the pump and wait until the container is filled with water. In this way, you will create a beautiful composition in your dacha, where the flow of water will fall steadily onto the steps of the structure, giving the area a pleasant murmur.

Making a bowl with your own hands

If you can’t find a suitable container in the store, you can take a different approach to the question of how to build a fountain in your dacha with your own hands. To do this, you will need sand, geotextiles and pool film or regular thick polyethylene film (it is cheaper):

First, a pit of the required size and depth is dug.
After removing roots, stones and other protrusions, the bottom is carefully compacted and covered with sand.
Then the pit is completely covered with geotextiles to prevent plant germination.
The film is laid loosely on top of the geotextile. It should not be pulled, and the edges should extend to the surface of the ground at least 25 cm.
Along the perimeter, the edges of the film are pressed with boulders; pebbles and rounded stones without sharp edges that can damage the waterproofing are also placed on the bottom of the bowl.
