At ease: 50 cool ideas for children's creativity

Just recently, while preparing to move, I found in the kitchen cabinets a lot of mismatched paper plates left over from several years of picnics and outdoor parties. All the advantages of a paper plate immediately came to mind - it is perfectly round, slightly convex, almost always divided into sectors, it is easy to cut and bend, it does not immediately get wet, unlike ordinary cardboard, and it is a very inexpensive material for implementing ideas, so I just couldn’t raise my hand to throw away all this abundance.

And so I decided to look on the Internet to see what could be created from them, not only beautiful or funny, but also at least a little functional. Well, by tradition, I share the most interesting options with you. Materials

In addition to newspaper, you will need scissors and homemade paste. It is enough to dilute the flour in water until it becomes liquid sour cream, and then add boiling water and bring it to the consistency of jelly over low heat. Use completely cooled. The substance is not stored for a long time, so you should prepare a small portion before use.

For the products we will need basic shapes. This role can be perfectly played by simple saucers, cups, glasses and other elements of kitchen utensils that you want to create using papier-mâché. Experts recommend training on simpler objects, such as saucers. It is better to decorate with paints. But if you plan to create a piece of original art, jewelry is up to your taste. Anything can be used: threads, beads, ribbons, cotton wool, small toys, etc.

Of course, of course, a plate is something designed for pouring soup and is round in shape. Well, or for potatoes with a cutlet and a flat one. Templates, yeah. Instructions for creating dishes from papier-mâché with decoupage

We make a themed plate with an original design.

Prepare the selected kitchen utensil, materials for adhesive composition and decoration.

Prepare the mass:

Shred the paper and soak in warm water for several hours.

When everything swells, stir until smooth.

Separate the material using gauze.

Mix the resulting substance with PVA and dilute with glue.

You should get a homogeneous elastic structure that will hold its shape. Make a ball for testing.

Some craftsmen add a few spoons of putty to make the craft stronger.

Manufacturing process:

Lubricate the base with vegetable oil or any cream so that you can easily separate the craft later.

Turn it upside down and form a copy out of the mass.

Work with a spoon. This way you can create a smooth surface without much effort and without getting dirty.

Let the product dry for 2 to 5 days - depending on the thickness of the layer of mass and size.

Separate the bowl from the papier-mâché. This is what happens.

Having received an independent workpiece, the next step is to putty it. Let dry. Cover with white gouache. Thanks to this, the watercolor will lay down easier and the decoupage process will be easier. Glue the chosen motif for decoration.

After the napkin with the pattern has dried, paint everything with watercolor mixed with gouache. This is not necessary, but in our case this is the only way to achieve the desired tone.

Decorate the edge.

Cover everything with varnish.

This way you can make any creation that will become a wonderful decoration or gift.

Instructions for creation

Prepare the material - tear or cut the newspaper into small squares.

Place the selected piece of kitchen utensil upside down. Soak each piece in water until thoroughly soaked.

Cover the container with pieces, gluing them, but only from the outside. The excess is then trimmed off.

When finished with the first layer, spread with paste. If you don't want to cook the substance, use plain PVA. The coating should be thin and all around so that it dries quickly and covers the maximum amount of paper.

The second and subsequent layers follow the same example: wet newspaper, glue, etc.

Make sure that the corners do not puff up and try to avoid folds.

Open the last, sixth layer with glue and let the craft dry.

The more coatings, the thicker the future dishes. But it’s better not to overdo it and not make more than 10 pieces. Although very thin work will not hold the desired shape. Therefore, the main thing is to find the “golden mean”.

Leave to dry overnight.

When everything has set well the next day, trim the edges using scissors, focusing on the edges of the base item.

Some craftsmen recommend sanding with “zero” sandpaper. So that the surface acquires the appearance closest to the original.

Remove the base - you won't need it anymore.

Moving on to the design, decide on the style in which you want to see the craft.

It is better to initially paint everything with white gouache. Additional paint will, in any case, make the bowl stronger.

Then you can choose any other color and decorating elements or the nature of the painting.

The initial layer should be white, as newspaper fonts may show through, which is not very nice.

When dyeing, try to minimize the use of water, otherwise the item being processed risks becoming limp.
