I'm not one to follow the crowd, but this idea seemed interesting to me and I decided to give it a try. Creating the aluminum ball turned out to be a surprisingly meditative process.

I used the easiest method and used an anvil, hammers and polish. Considering the time spent, I was pleased with the result. I didn't have to sand anything - just hit, tap and polish.

The first step is to determine the size of the gear being manufactured in order to understand what kind of mesh fabric is required. Additionally, you need to buy rods for the arcs.

It is recommended to purchase a net made of nylon scaffolding for lifts. To stretch and fix the net to the arcs, you need a polymer thread with a diameter of 3 mm.

To make arcs, you will need a non-bending metal rod or reinforcement, d 3 mm. To lift the product you need a rope or nylon cord, 10 m long.
