Cufflinks from an old CD
Take:
- old CD;
- 2 wide coins;
- hammer, solder, torch, sandpaper, hacksaw;
- glue gun with transparent glue;
- paper blanks with a logo (if you want), or just black thick photo paper;
- Use a hammer and a torch to work the coin so that its edges are evenly bent inward.
- Peel off the top, iridescent layer from the CD.
- Cut out circles from it and from paper (with or without a logo), ideal for blank coins.
- Glue the paper inside the workpiece, and glue the circles from the disk on top.
- Sand the workpiece and the cufflinks are ready.
How to make men's cufflinks
So, let's make our own shirt cufflinks.
Step 1
Take the cufflink hardware and trace it on the fabric with an erasable marker (two circles).
Step 2
Using a ruler, measure the diameter of the circle and measure this distance from the outside.

Using a compass, draw a circle (diameter: from the center of the small circle to the marked point).

Make a second identical circle.

Place the fabric on the hoop and secure it well. Draw the desired initials and enclose them in a circle. Or you can add a little imagination and come up with some small pattern. Embroider the resulting pattern with contrasting threads. Fasten the thread on the reverse side.

How to make copper cufflinks: master class
Today I will tell you how to make a base for cufflinks. This master class was created in collaboration with Jana Krieger, here you will find the continuation of the master class.
To work we need:
— sheet copper 0.5 mm or more;
— copper wire 1.2 mm;
- metal scissors;
- sandpaper of various grain sizes;
On sheet metal we mark 2 squares with a side of 1 cm, cut them with metal scissors, align them and clean the edges with a file.
We take the wire and make 2 rings with an outer diameter of about 7 mm, 2 loops with a height of 6-8 mm. We solder the cut of the rings so that they become permanent, bleach and thoroughly clean the soldering area, then it will be inconvenient, and in some places impossible to reach. We check the gap between the eyelet and the base of the cufflink, adjusting it to a fraction of a millimeter if necessary, so that the soldering is successful.
For the bottom of the cufflinks, take a piece of wire 5-6 cm and bend it as shown in the figure.
We thread the ring into the bottom of the cufflink, solder it, and bleach it.
Apply correction fluid to the soldering areas so that during the last soldering you do not ruin the entire work, let it dry.
Then we take the loop, insert it into the ring, fix it with tweezers and solder the loop to the base of the cufflink, bleach it. Sand with sandpaper, various attachments (whoever has what in his arsenal), polish. The blank for further decoration is ready!
