Compositions, panels, topiaries made of artificial fruits. Benefits and Applications of Fruit Dummy

We are fascinated by the beauty of fresh fruits and berries. Only the duration of their impeccable appearance is quite short; over time they fade. The interior will be decorated with artificial fruits for decoration. They look so natural that sometimes they cannot be distinguished from real fruits. Dummy food in the form of berries and fruits looks very appetizing. They cannot be eaten, but they serve to create unfading beauty for more than one year.

Artificial fruits for interior design are made from high-quality material, which gives them a natural look. Modern kitchens, bars, restaurants, shop windows are simply impossible to imagine without such compositions. These bright, shiny and realistic fruits lift your spirits and whet your appetite. You won’t see any kind of artificial fruit in stores: apples, pears, bananas, strawberries, grapes, peaches, lemons, etc.

Benefits of ornamental fruits

Artificial fruits and vegetables are three-dimensional decorative figures that are very realistic. Such dummies are very popular and have many advantages:

Preparing for work

Before starting to make a flower panel, it is advisable to immediately collect all the materials that are supposed to be used in the composition. This will help you select the most expressive details, and, if necessary, find a replacement or addition. The composition of the picture can include not only flowers, but also other natural materials.

To work you will need the following:

  • material for the base (sheet of plywood, cut wood, board, etc.);
  • a set of artificial or natural details of the composition (flowers, herbs, pine cones, stones or shells, berries and fruits, etc.);
  • additional decorative elements (paints, ribbons, cords, etc.);
  • cord for hanging or hidden furniture-type loop;
  • small nails, hot or all-purpose glue, buttons or other inconspicuous fasteners;
  • scissors.

You can start work by developing a sketch, but often panels are created right away, focusing on the desired combinations of shapes and shades of the selected material.

Application of fruit and vegetable decorations

Often, fruit figures made of foam and plastic are attached with hot glue. Many dummies have a wire with which they can be screwed to a panel or other composition. Artificial fruits and vegetables can be used as follows:

  • Use them to make crafts, ikebana paintings, and still lifes to decorate rooms. They can be supplemented with sisal; baskets, vases, and photo frames are used as a basis.
  • They are used to transform lemon and tangerine trees when they do not bear fruit for a long time. They can decorate any living tree.
  • They are part of beautiful topiary with artificial leaves, flowers, twigs, buds, beads, grass.
  • They express the style of certain establishments, for example, Ukrainian-style restaurants with peppers, mushrooms, onions, garlic and viburnum sprigs.
  • They act as part of holiday wreaths and costumes.
  • They decorate various fairs and promotions.
  • Gifts and cards are decorated with corrugated paper.

Images and inscriptions with threads

Designers have been actively using the String Art technique for a long time. It does not require any special skills, but you can create a designer panel with threads in an evening.

Required:

  • wooden or fiberboard base;
  • nails;
  • pliers;
  • hammer;
  • dense acrylic threads;
  • pencil.

First, a drawing is applied to the base. You can choose any, but the ideal options for the kitchen are inscriptions, mugs, cups, fruits. You need to choose an image with clear outer lines.

After the design is transferred to the base, nails must be driven along the line at a distance of 0.5 - 2 cm from each other. For convenience and so that all the nails are at the same level, it is better to hold them with pliers.

When the nails are hammered, you need to take a skein of thread and tie the end to one of them. The thread is caught in all places in a certain sequence or in random order. If the pattern is round, it is better to move from one edge to the other. Do not pull the thread too tightly; it may break.

Advice: if you don’t like the color of the base, then apply a layer of paint. You shouldn’t do more than 2-3 layers: when you hammer in nails, cracks will appear.

Compositions of fruits and flowers

The simplest fruit decoration will be a decorative composition. Often matching artificial fruits, berries and vegetables are combined together, supplemented with original leaves. The basis is beautiful plates, vases, baskets made of wicker or newspaper tubes. For the mini format, miniature dummies are suitable, and for the large format - real size. Fruit arrangements are so popular that they often become wedding decorations. This is especially true in the autumn season. A fruit bouquet will perfectly replace quickly fading flowers.

Pallet decorations

Palettes are a popular material for handicrafts today. They make a lot of things: furniture, shelves, walls, gazebos. They are also suitable for kitchen decor.

Important: before decorating the pallets, the surface is thoroughly sanded using a special machine or sandpaper, all elements are degreased and dried.

Pallets make original small shelves for plates or photos. They will fit well into the Provence interior and are suitable for apartments and summer country kitchens.

If you insert pots with plants into them, you will get a hanging flower stand. Plants that hang from the structure look ideal.

Pallets are also used as a canvas for drawings - for example, as in this photo.

Soft parts

The kitchen is associated with comfort and warmth, so fabric panels will decorate such a room.

Moreover, even small pieces of material will do. The scraps are cut into equal pieces and sewn together using the patchwork technique. The finished product is stretched onto the canvas or loops are made on top and the finished panel is hung on a wooden stick or miniature cornice.

This is how textile mugs are also sewn, attached to the wall separately or together on one surface.

Wall panels

Wall panels made of decorative fruits are particularly attractive with their brightness and juiciness. Such paintings can often be seen in the interior of a living room, kitchen or dining room. To create such panels, plywood, fiberboard sheets, and hardboard boards are used. They are first covered with a suitable fabric or painted over. To attach the models, use a glue gun or needles. An original frame will effectively highlight such a panel.

To create a three-dimensional collage of artificial fruits, putty is often added to the base, and dummies are pressed into it. For such wall compositions, you can use baskets, but they need to be cut in half and then glued. One basket is enough to decorate two panels. The fruits can also be cut in half.

New life for old kitchen utensils

You can even make a DIY kitchen panel from unnecessary forks, spoons, scoops and frying pans. The idea can be easily realized with cutlery, base, paints and glue. If you are not sure that the composition will stick well to the glue, then use small nails.

The base for the panel can be anything, but it is important that it can withstand the weight of all the parts that you want to attach to it.

Topiary made from fruits and berries

A popular decoration and a new design trend is the topiary, or tree of happiness. This is an aesthetically designed decorative tree made in various styles. It is believed that such a tree of happiness brings good luck to the house. The theme of such topiaries can be different: coffee, floral, sea, fruit. They are decorated with various artificial materials: flowers, stones, beads, paper, ribbons, banknotes. We are interested in fruit topiary.

Artificial fruits are much easier to attach to the trunk of such a tree than other materials. Fruit dummies are voluminous, so they allow you to form a beautiful topiary crown. It is appropriate to add original leaves and small berries to bright fruits. First, a ball is made from newspapers for the topiary, and masking tape or foil is wrapped over it. Then the ball is attached to the barrel, the joints are lubricated with glue and wrapped with twine. Even better is to make a foam ball. To make the dummies fit more tightly to the base, it is better to cut them in half. Attach the fruits to toothpicks coated with glue. Such unusual fruit trees are very beautiful and in demand.

banana dog

The shape of the banana is perfect for making a dachshund out of it. To do this, you will need one whole fruit, and a small part from the second to make a head out of it.

The step-by-step instructions for this craft are not complicated:

  • It is necessary to cut out the head from the trimmed part of the fruit so that there is less pulp left than the peel. From this “extra” peel you now need to form ears;
  • Attach the legs to the banana body so that the concave part of the fruit is at the bottom. The tail of the fruit will be a continuation of the dog’s body and will repeat its real tail;
  • All that remains is to draw the eyes on the skin of the muzzle and secure the head to the body with a toothpick.

Decorative compositions for the interior: rules of choice

Original flower compositions will help the interior of the apartment acquire individuality and original additional charm.

How to choose the right flower arrangement:

  • Corridor. Tall artificial roses, orchids in a floor vase or small branches to decorate a mirror are appropriate here.
  • Living room. An excellent option would be to place a stylish floor vase near the sofa or fireplace, decorative fruits in a basket on the table, small glass vases with the same flowers in one row on the shelf.
  • Kitchen. The window sill can be decorated with three small ceramic or clay vases in one line. Secure bunches of artificial onions and garlic on twine, place the fruit in a vase on a table or shelf.
  • Bedroom. Three-dimensional wall paintings, panels of orchids or Biedermeier standing on the dressing table will look beautiful.
  • Balcony. This is an ideal place to place flowerpots with bindweed flowers, which are very durable and almost do not fade in the sun.

The beauty of living plants, unfortunately, quickly fades, but it gives many ideas for creativity, and art lives forever. A hand-made flower sculpture will bring a lot of joy and positivity to both the owners and guests of the house.

DIY flower arrangements for the table

Real fresh flowers are very beautiful and delicate, but they require careful care and attention. It is much more convenient to decorate the interior of your home with artificial species. Elegant compositions of beautiful artificial species, made with your own hands, can serve as a decoration for a room for a long time without losing their decorative properties.

Flower arrangements are a great way to make the interior decoration of rooms more beautiful and sophisticated, and the high quality of materials allows you to make flowers so natural that they are difficult to distinguish from real ones.

To make it, you will need polystyrene foam or oasis; vase, basket, flowerpot or dish for composition; several artificial flowers; tape, wire and scissors.

The work is performed in the following sequence:

  1. Flowers can be bought or made by yourself. Divide twigs from several elements into parts, remove excess twigs and leaves.
  2. Make a base for a styrofoam bouquet or an oasis for flowers. To do this, cut out the desired shape from it and place it in a container for the composition.
  3. Starting with the tallest flowers, stick them into the base in the desired location. Plants of medium length should be placed so that each element is clearly visible. Decorate the front part and the surface of the base with short plants. If you cannot completely cover the foam, you can cover it with pebbles, sand, shells or decorative hay.
  4. To make a tall bouquet for a vase, you need to gradually secure new flower heads on a tall plant, wrapping them with ribbon.

Each element in the composition should be clearly visible, so it is important to maintain the placement levels by adjusting the length of the stems by adding a piece of wire or cutting off the excess.

Wool paintings

Flowers in wool paintings look unusual and very beautiful. To practice this type of needlework you will need:

  • cardboard base and frame with glass or transparent plastic;
  • sharp scissors;
  • tweezers;
  • pieces of fabric;
  • wool for felting.

A panel of wool with flowers is made in the following order:

  1. Fabric is glued or attached to the cardboard. It should not be smooth so that the wool sticks to it better.
  2. The background is made from pieces of wool. To do this, small tangled pieces of the desired color are pinched off and laid out on the fabric.
  3. The finished background is ironed through a clean sheet of paper to compact it.
  4. Plant stems and branches are made from wool twisted into flagella.
  5. Flowers and leaves are formed.

When the painting is ready, it is covered tightly with glass, and excess pieces of wool are trimmed off.

Beautiful examples

By studying the works of more experienced craftsmen and adopting ideas for inspiration, you can make a topiary that will amaze with its beauty and grace.

Topiary shapes will fit perfectly into any style. So, for the Provence style, products decorated with burlap, lace, and braid are suitable.

Marine design can be supported by making topiary in a similar style. A product with shells, pearls and stones is suitable as an original souvenir that will remind you of a pleasant holiday at sea.

An original coffee tree will decorate any cafeteria. This is also a great option for giving a gift to a coffee lover.

Models with cute buds combined with lush flowers, made from corrugated paper, are often used as a wedding bouquet or other celebration. Brides often choose this option as their main bouquet. It is not inferior in its beauty to bouquets of fresh flowers, and such flowers will not wither or deteriorate.

Seasonal topiaries are especially popular. For each season you can choose a beautiful version of this craft. New Year's, autumn or flower topiary is made according to a certain algorithm, and the difference here will only be in the choice of certain materials.

For the New Year's tree, cones, sisal and tulle are used. They decorate it with spruce branches, serpentine, feathers or small Christmas tree decorations.

Spring mini-trees will look very gentle. More often, such products have a calm color scheme, but with the presence of bright touches. The combination of light green with yellow, orange and pink shades creates a special mood. Decor in the form of butterflies and ladybugs will ideally complement the spring composition.

A summer tree often looks brighter. There are a variety of colors and shades, and suitable decor in the form of butterflies, birds, and dragonflies is used.

For autumn crafts, dry leaves, tree fruits, berries or artificial flowers are used. Such compositions usually have a less bright and saturated color. Combinations of brown with yellow, green and red are appropriate here. A tree in contrasting shades looks no less impressive.

Interior compositions: rich assortment

Modern artificial flowers are beautiful individually, but they look even more attractive in the form of specially created compositions.

By analyzing the most successful ways of combining color and texture, you can get creative decorations that will look organic in any interior.

Flower bouquets give rooms an elegant and festive look and can decorate not only an apartment or house, but also offices, cafes, restaurants and salons.

The most common types of flower arrangements:

  • Bouquets. If, according to the rules of floristry, you collect flowers of various shapes and colors into one bouquet, then it can be used to decorate the room permanently or for a special event.
  • Plant in the pot. The stems of artificial flowers are secured inside the pot in polystyrene foam, foam rubber, floral sponge or a plastic circle with holes. To enhance the natural effect, artificial green branches are added.
  • In the basket. Bouquets in a basket look good on an empty wall, filling and decorating the space. No less interesting options are the use of climbing plants such as ivy in the basket.
  • Pots with flowers. Wide floor vases are used in spacious halls and pavilions or when creating an indoor winter garden.
  • Figures from flowers. Figurines of fairy-tale characters or favorite animals made from flowers can be presented as an unusual and very original gift.
  • Compositions for the garden. Artificial vines are used to decorate arches and fences, and floating water lilies are placed in an artificial pond.

Imitating natural flowers, artificial plants are practically no different in appearance from natural ones and create a feeling of coziness and comfort in the home.

Unusual solutions

A coffee ball can serve not only as the crown of a tree, but also as the core of a large flower. Based on the ball, you can make a large poppy and or a sunflower flower. To do this, large petals of plastic, corrugated paper or fabric are glued around the core.

When creating a coffee topiary, start from what meaning you want this craft to carry. Typically, coffee topiary is associated with well-being and endless energy.

Depending on the decor, the meaning can be slightly changed. So, as a gift to the couple, it is better to make a double topiary; the crowns of the trees can be made in the shape of hearts.

It is better to give men laconic topiaries; they can be supplemented with men’s accessories (hat, bow tie, smoking pipe).

Turn on your imagination, think about the character of the person for whom you are creating a gift and you will definitely make a truly exclusive gift.

Topiary for the New Year

Such a tree can replace a holiday tree;
blend harmoniously with it in the interior. The New Year theme is very bright and positive, so the base of the topiary is covered with expensive material, preferably shiny. To create a crown, Christmas tree toys are usually used, spherical and elongated, regular and unbreakable, hard and soft. Other New Year's accessories will also come in handy: bells, pine cones, candies, deer, packaging. It is desirable that such a topiary does not fall, so the structure is securely fixed in the pot. To do this, you will need a dense filler for the base and a wide trunk made of thick cardboard. Using a regular foam ball as a base for the crown is not the best solution. It is necessary to purchase a floristic oasis. All elements are secured to it using pre-glued toothpicks.
