DIY paper ball. step-by-step instructions + 300 photos

You won’t be able to go out onto the field with an origami soccer ball, but it will make a wonderful gift. All fans of the ancient game - and the first team competitions were held back in the 3rd century BC in China - will love such a souvenir. A real soccer ball is a truncated icosahedron and consists of 32 fragments: 12 black ones are pentagonal in shape, and 20 white ones are hexagonal. The origami model also consists of two types of modules, each of which has its own scheme.

The first method of modular origami

To use this method, you need to make twelve component parts.
They are made like this: we take square sheets of paper and first glue the hemispheres, then the ball itself. Now in more detail.

We will need: twelve sheets of paper (A4 format). To make a small ball, you need six sheets.

We cut a sheet of paper exactly into two parts. From each piece that turns out, we make a square, then from it we make a pentagon. Fold it in the middle to make a scarf. Fold it again exactly in the center and unfold it. We should get a triangle. We lower the top of the figure and unfold it. We should have a visible bend that connects the edge of the bend at the top with the base (perpendicular point). We bend according to this guideline.

We wrap the left edge over the top of the right. Now we fold these two layers of paper again to the right along the top of the remaining folds. Using a square, we draw a line, but it is necessary to take into account that the angle must be strictly ninety degrees. We got the bend, now we cut the paper five millimeters lower. As a result, we will get the part.

The next step is to create the petal. After this, we retreat five to seven millimeters from the edge. Near the bends we make an indent half as big. We make an incision. Following the dotted line, bend it inward. We bend the part according to the line - outward and inward. Glue the tops of the cut and raised petals together in pairs. We now have a module.

Now we glue six modules according to the scheme: we glue five together as a pentagon and another one in the middle. We also glue the remaining six modules. The final stage is to glue two hemispheres.

We create modules for making a ball

The “building material” for creating any three-dimensional products using the origami technique are pre-fabricated triangular modules. They are not difficult to make, however, as practice shows, completing the first ten figures takes some time.

Then the process becomes automatic and they are created quickly. Then modular construction turns into a favorite pastime, and the balls turn out to be just the beginning of a long journey.

First of all, you should take an A4 sheet and divide it into 16 or 32 identical parts. After this, you need to cut out regular paper triangles.

Next we proceed according to the following algorithm.

  1. We bend the rectangle in half lengthwise, after which it must be bent across.
  2. We bend the corners of the rectangle according to the same principle as when making a regular paper rectangle.
  3. The resulting figure must be folded in half again, right in the middle towards the outside, between the folded edges. The protruding parts must be folded and the edges turned outward.
  4. We finally bend the workpiece in half, and it takes on the necessary triangular shape.

To make an origami-style ball, you will need at least 280 of these modules, made from multi-colored sheets, pre-divided into 32 rectangular parts. This, of course, is a lot, but if you involve the whole family in the activity, you will get wonderful creative gatherings with good music and pleasant conversation.

Modular creativity is very useful for children, since it is even difficult to imagine a more effective exercise for developing fine motor skills.

Tools

  • Needle
  • Pencil
  • Ruler.

Now, using these patterns, we draw out (taking into account a seam allowance of 1 cm, if you sew the parts by machine) the parts of our ball - 20 hexagons on fabric of the same color and 12 pentagons on fabric of a different color (it is better to take contrasting colors). You can sew a completely multi-colored or one-color ball, but then it won’t look like a football!

Then to the same pentagon we sew a hexagon to each side.

You will get one hemisphere of our ball.

When both halves are ready, sew them together, leaving a small hole to turn inside out and stuff the ball. When everything is ready, you need to stuff the ball with some kind of filler (cotton wool, padding polyester, scraps of rags, thread). If the toy is intended for a baby or pet, you can stuff it with rustling plastic bags. You can also make the ball a rattle. To do this, you need to take a chocolate egg container or a shoe cover package, put a few beads or peas in it, close it tightly and place it inside the ball.

Make the last seam and that's it - the ball is ready! You can play!

Souvenir ball

By complicating the task a little, you can make an exquisite and unusual decorative element. It will make a spectacular pendant or themed lamp. All the parts of this paper origami soccer ball are made from squares measuring 15x15 cm. In total, you will need 64 modules:

  • 40 white;
  • 24 black.

Step-by-step instruction:

We make black pentagons and white hexagons according to standard patterns.

For each module, the lines leading to the corners are bent as a “mountain”, and the dividing sectors in half as a “valley”. Then we take two identical elements and stack them on top of each other with a 90° shift. Thus, every “mountain” falls into a “valley”. We bend the corners of the upper figures down. We will use them to glue the modules together in the future.

We combine all the parts into a classic soccer ball.

We gradually build up the figure from bottom to top until we use all 32 modules.

Thanks to the relief, an ordinary truncated icosahedron turns into a stellated polyhedron of amazing beauty. Its sizes can vary - small models will make interesting Christmas tree decorations or garlands for a teenager’s room.

Paper circle balls

New Year's crafts are often very logical in their production. Also here - the ball is assembled from circles. Small rounds cut out of paper can be folded in half, cut, glued, folded, stitched, secured with or without strings. In gluing, you can combine two or three circles to give the finished product a different shape.

Several design examples

If you need an exact color match, you can first wrap each candy in paper of the desired color and then form a sweet ball. Let's look at this example in more detail. Such a ball will be most similar to the original, since the details of the ball’s pattern fit closer to each other.

Let's begin. First you need to cut out pentagons from cardboard or a cardboard box (with a side equal to 2.5 cm and a radius equal to 2.5 cm - 20 pieces, and with a radius of 2.2 cm - 12 pieces). Place each cardboard piece on a piece of colored paper, place a candy on top and fold the ends. The edges can be secured with tape. Let's start assembling the sweet gift. It’s more convenient to do it this way. First, we assemble the first half of the ball, gluing the candies together with a glue gun. Then we do the same with the other half, after which the two parts can be glued together.

Our ball is ready and we can start playing on the lawn. To do this, take a piece of foam plastic (to simulate a football field) and cover it with green paper. Apply a small amount of glue on top and glue pre-cut pieces of paper. This will be our grass. The final step is to wrap the sweet surprise in transparent wrapping paper and decorate it with a bow. By the way, such a ball can be made in a slightly different way. The difference is the absence of candy. Yes exactly. Everything is done as described above, but no candy is added to the cardboard, which is wrapped in colored paper.

Then we assemble the halves of the ball and, before gluing them together, pour candy into them. It turns out to be a kind of box for chocolates. The work is finished and we can say with confidence that such a gift can please many sweet lovers. There is no need to be afraid to show your imagination, because if you try, your sweet gift will be unique. For example, the ball can be made not only in black and white, but also in a combination of blue shades.

And having decorated the gift with a beautiful flower wrapper, you can give it not only to a man, but also to football lovers. The girl will definitely be surprised by such a gift.

You can fantasize about decorating the field as a base for the ball. By decorating the edges of the football field with square candies and making something like stands with fans, we will get a wonderful thematic surprise that will cause a storm of positive emotions in the recipient.

By the way, you can make the composition not in the form of a whole ball, but half of it.

By adding a bottle of good cognac to the sweets, you can celebrate your anniversary.

And here is an example of a gift for the winner.

This type of gift, made with your own hands, is one of the best ways to show attention to football lovers and fans, guys who are fond of this sport. The son and husband will also certainly appreciate such a surprise. After all, there are so many reasons throughout the year that are suitable for such a surprise. This is the twenty-third of February, and birthdays, and for the New Year, such a gift will be just right.

With your own hands

Delicious gifts delight not only children, but also adults at any age enjoy receiving their favorite delicacies. Therefore, it seems to me that this is the most successful and practical solution, which will please the eye and leave a sweet memory. And if you take into account the preferences and hobbies of the recipient, the original gift and its giver will certainly become favorites among all others.

When I needed to find an interesting gift idea for a young man who is a passionate football fan, I didn’t have to think long.

The idea immediately came to me to make life-size soccer ball out of candy

Moreover, taking into account the birthday boy’s favorite team – Manchester United, I decided to embody not the usual black and white version, but red and yellow – in the colors of the club’s attributes.

Composition with a ball of candy

To create a delicious composition with a soccer ball made from candies you will need:

  • Lots of dome-shaped candies with red and yellow wrappers.
  • Styrofoam ball for base.
  • Toothpicks.
  • Double-sided tape and regular tape.
  • Chipboard for the stand.
  • Plain paper for decorating the stand.
  • Green cardboard.
  • Thin transparent but durable flag paper.
  • Plasticine or hot glue.

Making a soccer ball

Insert a toothpick into the candy from the side with the pointed top. Wrap the junction with a small piece of regular tape (required!). In this way we prepare the required amount of sweet preparations.

Note: You will need a lot of candies, since the ball is made in full size. But don’t waste your time and money – the result is simply amazing!

We insert the candies on toothpicks into the foam ball, leaving a short stem to create volume. We glue the blanks together with double-sided tape.

We make a circle, alternating candies by color and conveying the “pattern” of a real ball. We fill the foam ball, observing the sequence of the football combination and achieving a clear, believable picture. When completing half, it is important to calculate the number and location of the pieces so that they fit together like a puzzle and avoid the appearance of bare spots.

We cover a sheet of chipboard with paper and green cardboard on top to create a prototype of a football field.

Note: The candy ball turns out to be quite heavy, so the stand needs appropriate material that can withstand the load. I chose chipboard.

Place a sweet soccer ball and secure it with double-sided tape.

We print the flag of the birthday boy’s favorite team on thin, transparent, but quite durable paper. You can use any ready-made solution, a textile option, but preferably with an image on both sides.

Glue the bottom edges of the flag to the tops of toothpicks and secure the flag to the football field using green plasticine or hot glue.

An amazing sweet gift for a football fan is ready to be presented. All that remains is to supplement it with a themed card with wishes, which can be included in the composition according to the principle of attaching a flag to the back of the ball.

Delicious gift

So how can you make sweet joy for your beloved men? The master class below will accurately answer the question posed.

First you need to cut off the tails from the wrappers. This is necessary for greater convenience when collecting our gift. Next, we connect each candy with a toothpick and secure it with tape.

Now we stick each piece into our base, be it a ball or a foam ball, creating a soccer ball pattern. If this is difficult, you can look at the correct arrangement of colors on the original.

Here's what you get in the end:

Without stopping there, we will continue to work. Let's create an addition to the football sweets in the form of a field. To do this, we need to add green cardboard, two straws and a piece of mesh to our parts.

Straws and netting will replace goals, and green cardboard will become a football field. Using scraps of green wrapping paper, create the illusion of grass and glue a ball with a goal, as shown in the photo.

DIY postcard for dad step by step

Making a frame with a cover

Prepare two rectangular pieces of light green and dark green cardboard. You can use a whole sheet of A4 paper, you will get a fairly large postcard. Or half of the paper, which will make a medium-sized card.

Cut an inch off each side of the light green cardstock. Or two centimeters on both sides at once. If the card is large, you can cut off up to 2 cm on each side. As a result of these actions, the card will subsequently have a border that complements it.

Fold light green cardboard in half. Draw two parallel lines from the fold side, in the very center. Cut them.

Fold the cut area up and press.

Open the cardboard and redirect the cut part to the middle. Close the card and press so that all the folds fall into place and subsequently the card opens and closes easily.

Now we proceed to the application - displaying a football field with gates on a green background.

To do this, cut thin long strips from white cardboard.

At the first stage, glue them along the edges of the card.

Then glue in the form of rectangles: larger and smaller. If desired, you can also glue a semicircle next to them.

Glue the light green cardboard to the previously folded dark green cardboard, making sure the folds meet. The base with the cover of the card for dad is ready.

Step-by-step instructions with photos

In order to sew a ball from fabric, you need very little time, as well as simple materials and tools. And the process of making the ball itself is very simple.

Step 1: select the material

Textile

You can sew a soft ball from any scraps of fabric from which it is no longer possible to sew a bulky item. Did you find scraps of different colors? This is even better! A multi-colored ball will look even more beautiful and unusual.

Filler

It can be anything, from padding polyester, holofiber and similar synthetic fillers to scraps of fabric and pieces of foam rubber.

Beanbag

You can do without it, but it’s more fun when something rattles in the ball. Of course, if you can buy a special rattle for the ball, that’s great. However, you can do without it by using any sound source. For example, a bell or a bell.

Step 2: pattern

We copy the picture to our computer, enlarge it to the required size (it can be any size - it all depends on the desired size of the ball), print it, cut it out. In total we will need 12 fabric pentagons. The main thing is that all 12 pentagons are the same size.

Step 3: Sewing on Paper

And now a little trick - we will sew the parts for the ball using the “English Paper Piecing” technique - sewing on paper.

Preparing the details

For each detail we take fabric and a paper figure. We place the paper in the center of the fabric from the wrong side. Our task is to “wrap” this paper figure with fabric and secure it at the corners with thread.

Sew the parts together

Place the pieces right sides together. Sew: you can do this by hand, sewing them over the edge, or you can do it on a machine, connecting the sides of the elements and stitching both parts with a zigzag. Here the choice is entirely up to the craftswoman. So, first we sew the parts to all sides of the central part, then connect their sides on the sides.

A voluminous paper ball will be an excellent decoration for a young football player’s room. After all, it looks so much like a real soccer ball. The admiration of friends is guaranteed. And if this ball is made independently, then even more so, authority is ensured. How to make this interesting, wonderful craft? In our article we will offer you several ways to make a ball from paper. Of course, we will not be able to describe in detail all the manufacturing methods, and therefore we will focus on one, but, in our opinion, the most optimal one. A ball made using this method is more durable than other options for making a ball from paper. You can familiarize yourself with other, no less interesting types of making a paper ball in the video supplements to our article, and, based on this, choose the best method for yourself.

Souvenir paper ball

We suggest making a voluminous homemade soccer ball together with your children. Of course, with such an attribute you cannot organize professional fights or even backyard competitions, but such a craft will come in handy as an original souvenir.

Regular soccer balls are made from genuine leather or high quality synthetic materials. A homemade ball will not be so durable, however, this is not required from the souvenir version. We suggest gluing together an original paper craft.

Taking advantage of the master class on making paper attributes, you will not be disappointed with the result. You will get an exact copy of a soccer ball. You can choose the size of your craft yourself - just increase or decrease the size of the template.

Necessary materials for crafts

To make a paper ball you will need the following:

  • several thick sheets of white paper (cardboard will not work!);
  • a couple of sheets of orange (blue or black) color;
  • PVA glue;
  • some cardboard (for making templates);
  • scissors;
  • ruler;
  • a simple pencil and eraser.

Step-by-step description of the work progress

  1. Draw 2 shapes on the cardboard: a hexagon and a pentagon. In this case, the distance between the opposite corners of the hexagon should be 9 cm, and for the pentagon - 7.5 cm. Cut out the templates along the contour.
  1. After the templates are cut out, attach them to the paper and draw the required number of details. You need to draw 20 hexagons on white paper, and 12 pentagons on colored paper. After all the details have been outlined, use a ruler to draw additional lines around each figure, departing from the main contours at a distance of 1 cm.
  2. Next, use scissors to cut out all the parts (along the second contour) and make additional cuts in each corner.
  3. Fold the edges inward.
  4. After this, you can proceed directly to assembling the model. To make the ball round, you must adhere to the basic requirement: there must be 5 white hexagons around each colored pentagon. To begin with, you can lay out the parts on a table (flat surface), and then start gluing them together.
  1. Continue gluing together the white and colored pieces in the established order.
  1. After you glue the last piece, you will have a real ball! When preparing templates of the specified sizes, a paper souvenir is even obtained with an identical diameter to a real football attribute.

How to make a ball from paper and cardboard

Required materials and tools

  • To make a soccer ball craft, you need to stock up on paper, cardboard, scissors (or a utility knife) and glue.
  • Crafts of a soccer ball made of paper and cardboard are not difficult to make, but a little experience, perseverance and dexterity will definitely not be superfluous.
  • A paper soccer ball will be an excellent decoration for a novice soccer player’s room.

Also, using your imagination, you can make it in different color shades. This is what will help the ball fit into any interior with different colors.

Step by step assembly

A paper ball will look exactly the same as a real one. But in practical terms it will be much better and more convenient.

In order to make such a ball, you need six white sheets of paper and three orange sheets (or any other color). You will also need:

  • Cardboard.
  • Ruler.
  • Pencil.
  • PVA glue.

First you need to build templates. For this we need cardboard.

Draw a regular pentagon with a diameter of 7.5 centimeters. And a regular hexagon, with a diameter of 9 centimeters.

Now using these templates, you need to make blanks from paper. In total, you need 20 hexagons made of white paper, and 12 pentagons made of orange (or any other) paper.

This number and sizes of templates are compiled for a soccer ball with a specific size. If you need a ball slightly larger or slightly smaller than the intended size, then you need to increase or decrease the number of templates and their sizes.

The templates must be transferred onto the paper carefully, remembering to retreat about 1 centimeter from each edge. This is necessary for bending, so that later the parts can be glued to each other.

Now you can start gluing the elements together. To do this you will need PVA glue and patience.

So, the ball is ready. It looks quite similar to the real one. Even the size is the same.

Origami

Origami is quite an interesting and fascinating art. What could be more interesting than folding your favorite thing or object out of origami?

Volumetric craft with step-by-step photos

For visual steps, you can watch the video below, which explains in some detail how to make a soccer ball from cardboard and paper.

Master class in modular origami technique

Despite the fact that the soccer ball craft has a considerable number of modules, it is not that difficult to assemble. Of course, the main thing in this matter is patience and performing actions exactly according to the plan.

For this product, it is better to use thick paper. By making a ball from such paper, you can ensure that it keeps its shape.

To make this ball you need two colored sheets in the shape of a square, and five white sheets of square shape.

In total, 12 color templates and 20 white templates were used for the soccer ball.

First you need to prepare white blanks. They will be in the shape of a regular hexagon. Each of the hexagons has 3 fasteners.

So, first, let's make modules for white hexagons.

To do this, take white squares and cut them in half. You should end up with 10 rectangles.

  1. Now you need to place the rectangle in front of you.
  2. And fold it in half lengthwise.
  3. Now we need to fully expand this future workpiece. And then bend the lower right corner, as shown in the image below:

Now the rectangle on the left needs to be folded so that a corner can be formed at the bottom. This must be done by attaching the bottom part to the fold.

  • Now we turn the started workpiece over with the other side up.
  • The left side of the workpiece needs to be bent to the right side, along the edge of the triangle.
  • Now if you unfold the resulting workpiece, you can see two equal triangles.

Now the resulting workpiece needs to be cut along the folds. The edges of the workpiece can be put aside - they are unnecessary. Only two triangles will be used.

So, now you need to make triangles from the remaining rectangles. There should be 20 pieces in total.

  1. Now bend the upper corner of one of the triangles to the bottom.

Now let's work with the moving part, which is located on top. Let's fold it straight along the fold.

  • But we fold the upper moving part in half.

Now we turn the workpiece itself to the left side by 90 degrees. And fold the corner from above, right along the dotted line.

  1. Now fold the top of the workpiece in half.

Now we again turn the craft 90 degrees to the left. And bend the shapes down in half.

  • Now the part that is bent needs to be bent in half:

In the center of the resulting workpiece there is a so-called pocket. But the “lid” of the triangle must be hidden inside.

Now the corners of the resulting figure need to be folded towards the center. This is something other than mounting modules.

Now we turn the resulting module over to the other side. In front of you lies a regular hexagon.

  1. Now we need to make other white modules.

When we're done with the white modules, let's move on to the colored forms. You need to take a square sheet of paper of the selected color. (In the example it will be blue).

  • Now fold it in half.
  • And we divide it into three parts equal in size:

Let's cut it. Take another colored square sheet. And we do the same.

  1. After all the manipulations, you should get twelve blanks.
  2. Take one rectangle and place it horizontally.
  3. Now fold it in half.

Now we position it so that the fold of the figure is on top. In this case, the upper part of the future module must be bent in half along the intended dotted line.

  • The part of the sheet that peeks out must be folded down so that the two folds completely coincide.

Now let's work a little on the right side. The future module must be folded to the right. This will ensure that both folds align here too.

  1. Now take the top triangle and flip it down.
  2. Now on the left you will see the lower part of the product, which protrudes slightly.
  3. It is necessary to align the edges by bending everything down.

Turn the module over to the other side. In this case, in the upper part there should be leaves that are not fastened together. You need to bend the top sheet down so that the corners align.

Now we turn the workpiece over 180 degrees. And fold the top part of the module in half.

Unfold and fold again. But this needs to be done only from the other side.

We unfold the sheet again. And we hide its upper part in the resulting pocket.

The workpiece has edge marks with folds. Now the right corner needs to be connected to the left mark. And the fold needs to be smoothed.

  • After all the manipulations, we get the following figure.
  • And this is the color module we got:
  • From this number of modules we will assemble a soccer ball.

You need to assemble modules like a mosaic. Each color module must be in white modules.

  1. In order for the ball to be fastened securely, it is necessary to fasten each joint of the modules from the inside with tape.

Perhaps the most difficult thing about this fake is its completion. It is necessary to carefully fasten all modules together. At the end of the work, you can stick tape on the last attached modules. And this is what happens in the end.

As one might understand, making a soccer ball from cardboard or paper is not such a difficult matter. Of course, mastery requires a certain skill and perseverance. But, looking at the results of the work, one can understand that the results exceed all expectations.

How happy a young football player will be with such a ball!

Interesting Facts

  1. The center for the production of modern soccer balls is located in the Pakistani city of Sialkot. Here they are handmade from high quality polyurethane. Machine stitching is much cheaper, but uses thinner thread and material, which reduces the life and performance of football equipment.
  2. Until 1990, professional teams played with balls made of genuine leather. However, later they were replaced by synthetic ones. The leather covering absorbed moisture in the rain, becoming heavier during the game.
  3. Thanks to American Charles Goodyear's invention of vulcanized rubber in 1839, manufacturers were able to eliminate the pig bladders that had previously been used to make ball chambers. Although, according to some historians, the first samples from natural elastomers were made by the Indians in the 17th century.
  4. The characteristic contrasting color was applied to the panels specifically for broadcasting matches on black-and-white TVs. Until the mid-20th century, football equipment was the color of natural leather.
  5. He has been designing balls for the World Cup since 1970. Each time it changes, expressing a certain idea and symbolism.
  6. A soccer ball has been developed that can accumulate electricity during play. After just 15 minutes of active use, you can charge your mobile phone from it.

In order to sew a ball from fabric, you need very little time, as well as simple materials and tools. And the process of making the ball itself is very simple.

Step 1: select the material

Textile

Paper balls made from small shaped pieces

To create such toys you will need:

  • paper;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • thread and needle.

The photo below shows several variations of crafts. For example, a New Year's craft can be made from several semicircles.

No less beautiful balls are made from paper accordions.

Flowers with five petals can be excellent starting details - the ball will turn out to be more diverse in volume.

Toys made from circles folded into triangles will also look quite bright, especially if you choose paper of an unusual color for them.

New Year's toys made from rectangles glued together at the corners look very beautiful and stylish. The photographs show the oriental version, but no one bothers to use another color or theme in the same way.

Triangles in a circle, with curved sides glued together - this is a kind of classic. It’s not difficult to make such a ball, but it will delight you with its appearance no worse than factory toys.

Second way

The ball can be assembled from eight, fourteen or eighteen modules. In 1950, a ball of thirty-two modules was created. We will now tell you how to do it.

Popular articles Household cleaning products

Thirty-two modules should initially be of two forms. Twelve modules are in the shape of pentagons, and the remaining twenty are hexagons.

Create a hexagonal module

We create an equilateral hexagon - its size is smaller than the twenty already cut out modules (purple figure in the figure, on the right). Its dimensions will influence the final dimensions of the ball.

Carefully bend the ends of the hexagon, which is larger, using a stencil (purple shape)

Open and remove the stencil. We also use it when applying it to other hexagonal blanks.

Now separately bend the edges again according to the folds.

We are finishing preparing the module. To do this, bend each edge at a ninety-degree angle.

Making a pentagonal module

We bend the edge of the pentagonal blank parallel to the edge and a little more than when we folded the hexagonal blank.

The pentagon face will be the same length as the hexagon face. We apply the hexagon stencil to the folded side of the pentagon, and we will get the place where the left and right fold intersect with the bottom side. Bend parallel to the folded side.

We transfer the stencil. We will have a fourth fold.

We shift the stencil again, and with the help of the fifth fold we get a small pentagon.

Now we need to unfold the workpiece and bend the sides again according to the folds that we received.

We bend all sides at an angle of ninety degrees at once. The module is ready.

If desired, repaint the pentagons black, or stick black film on them. Then the product will closely resemble a real ball.

Ball assembly

All pentagons are attached to hexagons (five pieces).

As an option: first we glue all twenty hexagons together, the product will begin to take the shape of a ball. And then we glue in the pentagons.

But we will do it easier. Glue the hexagon and pentagon together.

We add the hexagon, but first glue it to the pentagon.

A pentagon and six hexagons are glued together.

After this, we add five pentagons, then five hexagons.

We've done half the work - ten hexagons and six pentagons have been glued together.

Then we glue the remaining modules in reverse order - first five hexagons, then six pentagons.

Add the remaining five hexagons.

We connect with the main product.

We connect with each other.

Carefully glue the remaining module

Cooking steps

First you need to bake two biscuits. Then select two deep round bowls, it is better that they are the same size. Cover the inside of the bowls with cling film, and then place the biscuits there. The first layer of the cake should be cut to fit the bottom of the plate. The layers should be lubricated with cream. Once the bowl is full, cover it with cling film and put it in the refrigerator to harden. If you have special round molds as shown in the photo, then simply bake biscuits in them and cut them into pieces.

When choosing the bowl method, after the cake has frozen, take it out of the bowl and grease one side with cream so that the cake sets better. We also insert three toothpicks on top, for strength, and then lay out the second part of the biscuits. Before covering the torus with mastic, be sure to remove the toothpicks.

Generously spread the cream over the entire cake and place it in the refrigerator to harden. After the cake has frozen, smooth out its edges.

There are several ways to proceed. The first method is to cut out a hexagon and a pentagon from paper, along which mastic figures are subsequently cut out. The resulting figures are attached directly to the cream. Or the second method, for which you need to cover the entire cake with white mastic, and only then attach the figures, as in the first method.

We begin attaching the resulting figures of white and black hexagons and pentagons from the center of the cake. There should be a black pentagon in the center, and only then, alternating, you can safely stick out the shapes. That's all, the unusual sweet gift in the form of a ball is ready!

Simplified version of a soccer ball

A round ball can be made not only from a large number of paper blanks, but also from a cut out proposed diagram. Making a round craft in this way is even faster and easier. The only condition is the availability of copying equipment (printer).

Print out the diagram of the ball on white paper:

You can choose either a scheme with already drawn black pentagons or a completely white one. In place of the central parts, you can glue cut out pentagons of any color you like.

It is worth noting that the size of the finished craft directly depends on the size of the printed diagram. If you want to increase the size of the ball, then the printed material should be increased several times. And vice versa: for a small ball, a diagram on a regular A4 sheet will be enough.

Next, you need to carefully cut out the part along the contours and bend inward the places intended for gluing. Using PVA glue (a glue stick will also work), we glue one common three-dimensional part - the ball.

A copy of a real football attribute will be great for friends and football fans. This voluminous paper craft will decorate a child’s room or a teenager’s corner.

Formation of blanks

You will need 20 white hexagons. To form one workpiece, it is necessary to perform several sequential manipulations. Then you should cut five sheets into two parts lengthwise to make 10 rectangles. Each of them needs to be bent in half lengthwise and smoothed well. A clearly visible fold line should form. The rectangle needs to be bent and placed with the front side facing away from you. The upper left corner of the paper must be folded to the center fold line. The remainder on the right side should be folded onto the front part of the resulting triangle.

The next step is to unfold what you got and cut out two triangles. The three vertices of each triangle must be folded towards the central part. That's it - the white hexagon is ready. You need to do the same with all the other rectangles.

You will need 12 black pentagons. The basic element for their manufacture will be rectangles. Black squares of paper must be cut into two rectangles. Each of them must be divided into three parts.

Next, each rectangle should be folded in half and dotted. Along this line you need to bend the parts so that a pocket is formed in the center. You need to direct the upper part of the base figure into it. The final stage is to bend all the corners one by one and fold them in half.

Origami toys in the form of balls for the Christmas tree

Would you believe that from two squares 15 by 15 cm you get such an original ball? And at the same time it’s easy to do, it will take no more than 10 minutes (for beginners).

Fold the square in half diagonally. Then we fold it along the other diagonal.

We make 2 more folds: vertical and parallel.

We bend the sides of the square inward so that there is a triangle at the top and bottom.

We do the same with the second leaf.

Next, bend one part of the triangle so that this part looks up. Unbend the seam in the middle and fold the piece into a triangle.

We fold this triangle in half.

We perform all these manipulations with the remaining parts. Cut off the bottom triangles.

Take one of the eight triangles of the workpiece. And bend its edge towards the middle. And they straightened it out right away.

On all 8 petals we bend the lower part inward, along the fold lines.

We do all this with the second workpiece.

We make a hole in the top of one of the blanks and thread a loop through it.

We glue 2 blanks. We glue each curved section of the bottom to a section of the second workpiece.
