You will need: white, golden and red corrugated paper, chocolate Chupa Chups with surprise and round candy, wire, glue, padding polyester, red braid, beads, scissors, ruler.

Learn to weave New Year's baskets with your own hands from newspaper tubes

To weave a New Year's basket we will need:

1. office paper (newspapers or consumer paper)
2. glue;
3. scissors;
4. spoke;
5. acrylic paint
6. acrylic lacquer
7. bowl, salad bowl or other utensils for shaping the basket
8. clothespins;

Procedure

1) We wind a strip of newspaper (width 11-12 cm, the size of the finished strip is 11 by 28 cm, taking into account the length of the newspaper sheet) onto a knitting needle (see photo). To make this basket you need 90 newspaper tubes.

2) To weave the bottom of the basket you will need 8 tubes. We weave a square with sides of 4 cm. The working tube is bent and placed behind the first two posts. Afterwards, the upper tube goes down, and the lower one goes up (it turns out to be a rope).

3) Thus, two rows are woven, then the racks need to be moved apart and braided one at a time. You need to weave until the weaving reaches the desired level (orientation towards the chosen shape). Next, the racks are wrapped one after another (weave in a circle)

4) A bowl is placed inside the tube blank, and the tubes are fastened with clothespins. Next, we weave a rope to the height of the walls that is needed. The form is removed from the workpiece, another stand is introduced for bending.

5) To make a bend, we place the farthest tube behind the second stand, and put the stand before it on top of the working tube and let it down. The whole row goes on like this. At the end there are 3 tubes left, they weave another circle, it needs to be placed under the tube in the top row.

6) The next stage is to make a handle. Prepare 12 straws. Six tubes are inserted on one side and folded in half.

7) We get 12 stands, separate them into three bundles and start braiding. Use clothespins to secure the braid. We do the second braid in the same way.

The braids rise up and twist, secure them on top with glue, and braid them with wire and an additional tube. We intertwine the handle at the base of the basket on both sides.

9) Painting the basket. Mix acrylic paint and glue (1 to 1). After drying, cover the basket first with white paint, and then with brown (or any other), after the paint has dried, the basket is varnished.

In such a basket you can put sweets, fruits, champagne, and of course such a basket cannot do without New Year's attributes such as: New Year's balls, orange slices, candles. If such a basket is intended as a gift for an adult, then inside there may be a bottle of champagne or other alcoholic drink. And so that the basket is decorated as a gift for a child, it can contain toys, boxes of candy, or other sweets, fruits.
