This can be done carefully, with closed allowances, if the width of the jumper is at least 8 mm. A narrow jumper can only be covered with fabric with minimal fraying edges, because the fabric cut will have to be left open on the wrong side.

In order to cover the buckle with your own hands, you will need two rectangles of fabric, the size of which is equal to the size of the buckle plus double the width of the “frame” and plus 2 cm to the length and width. For example, if you are tightening a buckle measuring 5x3 cm, and the width of the “frame” is 1 cm, then the size of the rectangle will be 5+1*2+2= 9 cm (height) 3+1*2+2=7 cm (width) T i.e. the size of the required rectangle of fabric is 9x7 cm. What to take as a decorative element?
