How to make a large Kinder Surprise with your own hands, a giant egg at home

Hello dear friends and blog readers! The New Year is coming very soon, there are only a few days left, and I have been thinking for weeks about what to give the children on this magical holiday. What kind of New Year's gift should I give so that the kids will be delighted and remember it for a long time?

Of course, we will give toys and sweets, but the children play with new gifts for the first few days, at least mine, and then they are safely stored on the shelf, from time to time moving from there around the apartment with the help of little hands. Based on the very recent birthday, in a month or two they will completely forget what gift they were given for the celebration, although the toys were long-awaited and desired.

My thoughts, as I mentioned above, have been going on for about two weeks already: “What should I give as a gift?”, “How to present it so that it’s just uhhhh, so that it’s memorable?” and then the Universe heard me, an SMS comes from a friend:

- "Hello! Look what I did!!”

This is a Kinder made of papier-mâché, and inside it is hollow, a door is cut out and this huge egg is filled with a gift or sweets.

Hooray! Now I know how to surprise and delight my children! They will be delighted! Especially the eldest daughter, she loves these chocolate eggs and traditionally, under the Christmas tree or in person, Grandfather Frost gives her a Kinder MAXI, and here it’s not just a maxi, here is a Giant Kinder!

In general, my joy knew no bounds; I immediately learned from my friend the technology for creating this masterpiece. Then I turned to my old friend, who has been helping me out for probably 10 years now, this is, of course, Google, who told me that you can make a large egg out of paper using the papier-mâché technique, cover it with plaster or putty on top, or you can even get confused and make A real giant size chocolate egg! And I want to share all these ideas with you. Interesting? Then read the article.

I didn’t wait until I completely made my kinders, since it takes 3-5 days, I want to tell you right away! Suddenly, you, too, like me, are racking your brains about what to give your child so that it is unusual and memorable. I found master classes on the Internet, I use them myself and share them with you. In fact, everything here is easy and simple, everyone can do it! So let's get started...

Paper craft

Any child will be happy to receive a huge toy.
Children especially like the unexpected surprises inside the egg. Parents can make a kinder surprise with their own hands from paper. Many people became familiar with the papier-mâché technique at school; everyone can make this product. Materials for the product:

  1. Air balloon.
  2. White paper sheets.
  3. PVA glue.
  4. The water is cold and hot.
  5. Starch.
  6. Gouache with brushes.
  7. Sandpaper.
  8. Knife.
  9. A pair of gloves.
  10. Stickers with the Kinder Surprise logo.

To create an egg you will need

  • thin newsprint or napkins;
  • PVA glue;
  • balloon;
  • brushes and paints;
  • scissors;
  • strong threads;
  • deep bowl;
  • water;
  • printouts or pictures for decoration.

To get an egg that looks like a factory one, you need to select a picture with a branded inscription. But it is much more pleasant to receive not a simple gift, but an individual, personalized one. The child’s name can be pasted next to the company inscription, and a postcard signed on behalf of the creators of the Kinder Surprise can be placed inside the egg. The baby will be pleased to know that such a huge egg was prepared especially for him.

Master class step by step

We make a kinder surprise out of a balloon, inflate it, tie it with a reliable rope, and place it in a container convenient for it. We cut white paper into small pieces.

Next, make glue, pour 1 tbsp. l. potato starch 2 tbsp. l. cold water, mix until smooth, pour in 100g. hot water. Then put the prepared solution on the stove, cook, stirring until thickened, and let the glue cool.

The next step is making the shell, for which you need to cover the ball with paper. We take the prepared balloon, inflated with air, and begin to quickly and evenly cover it with paper pieces. The glued ball needs to dry for 10 minutes. When the first layer is ready, we also begin to make the 2nd layer.

Important! When moving to the 3rd layer, intensively saturate the 2nd layer on top with glue, apply the next paper layer. The model of the toy should be well soaked. Let the product dry for 6-8 hours.

After drying the workpiece, you need to remove the inflated ball from it, you can make a puncture or untie the thread to deflate it. The resulting hole is sealed with paper.

Next, the papier mache kinder needs to be painted. This can be done with any paint you wish. Coloring can be done based on the usual design, or you can come up with your own version. The company inscription is applied using the same paints.

You can make it personal, in addition to the logo, put the child’s name on it. If you wish, you can search for egg templates on the Internet and print them. Black and white printing, if there is no “color” printer, can also be colored with paints.

The top shell is ready, you need to insert gifts for the baby into it. Depending on your imagination and imagination, we cut a door on the back of the craft. Its configuration can be: oval, square, triangular, etc.

You can also carefully trim the top and use it as a door. We place the prepared items in the mold, decorate the door, and secure it with ribbons. You can rejoice that your own paper kinder is ready.

Basket of Kinder surprise bars

To create such a basket you will need corrugated paper, a small piece of foam plastic, hot glue, satin ribbons, candy bars and double-sided tape.

Heart-shaped basket of Kinder bars

Cut out a heart of the desired size from foam plastic. Cover the finished heart with corrugated paper. This paper is very easily deformed, so wrapping a foam heart will not be difficult for you.

Now take double-sided tape and stick a piece on each bar, then tear off the label on the other side of the tape and stick all the bars on the sides of the heart. I didn’t mention it above, the thickness of the heart should be half the height of the bars in order to ultimately form a basket.

When the basket is ready, tie a beautiful satin ribbon for security and a more festive look. The basket is ready, now you can put the same kinder surprises or chocolates in it.

Kinders from egg trays

Instead of plaster, you can use paper mache from egg trays to make this toy. To prepare the composition, you need:

  • crush the egg trays with your hands;
  • put in a fabric bag and tie it with a string;
  • place the bag in the washing machine for a full cycle at 900C;
  • after “washing”, take the mass out of the bag and crush it with your hands;
  • Mix the crushed composition with PVA glue in a 1:1 ratio; it should stick together easily.

Instead of plaster, apply papier-mâché to the paper blank with a spatula and let the composition dry. The surface is hard, you can paint it, apply a logo, or stick on a ready-made template printed from the Internet.

Mega chocolate gift

Methods for making a large kinder surprise egg with your own hands are presented above. Let's look at how to make a similar specimen from chocolate. For this you will need:

  • Dark chocolate – 12 pcs., white chocolate – 6 pcs.
  • Balloon.
  • Cake syringe.
  • A pair of silicone gloves.

Manufacturing sequence:

The ball should be rinsed under running water and dried well with a hairdryer at low temperature so that the inside is dry.

We prepare the heating in a water bath, pour 1:3 water into a container and place it on the stove.

Grind the black chocolate bars into pieces and place them in a large container.

Place the cup with chocolate pieces in a water bath. The stirring process continues until the mixture is homogeneous without lumps.

Cool the mixture so that its temperature is not too high, so that the chocolate does not cool down and has a stretchy structure.

Unscrew the cap of the pastry shop and place a ball on the spout. Using a piston, we pump air into the balloon to the required amount, and twist the tail so that it does not deflate.

Pour the chocolate composition into the syringe with a spoon and spin the ball.

When all the contents are completely filled, fix the tail of the balloon and slowly twist it, tapping it, all sides of the balloon should be brown.

We place the workpiece in a vertical position so that all the remaining uncooled sweetness drips onto the base, and the craft becomes stable.

Place the product in the refrigerator for 2 hours so that the chocolate walls harden well.

After the specified time has passed, we put on gloves so that the ball does not melt when touched, and take it out of the cold.

We make an additional coating of light chocolate inside the product. We put a deep container on the cocoon, carefully cut off the top along the edge of the container with a sharp knife.

Remove the rubber ball.

We coat the inside of the surprise with melted white sweetness and place it in the refrigerator.

We take it out after an hour and put the prepared gifts in it.

We run a hot knife along the edge of the top, the chocolate edges melt, we apply the evenly cut top, and the two components of one whole are firmly connected to each other.

To make the seam look invisible, you can add a little chocolate into it with a syringe and carefully remove the remainder.

A large do-it-yourself chocolate kinder is ready!

We make beautiful packaging

To make it look like a branded item, you need to make the original packaging. We cut out 2 oval parts from a sheet of foil with an allowance of 10 cm. Along the bottom of the blanks we draw a wave of red paint using a spray can.

We paint the remaining parts of the ovals with white, covering the red side of the workpiece so as not to stain it. Place the product sideways in the center on 1 sheet of foil, cover with another sheet, carefully sealing the edges.

We print out the original sticker from the computer and attach it with adhesive tape.

Large kinder surprise made of plaster

This egg has a special advantage - it is very durable. After unpacking the gift, the child will be able to use it as a box or house for toys.

To prepare this kinder surprise you will need:

  • dry gypsum mixture;
  • water;
  • paper;
  • glue;
  • spatula or spoon;
  • small handsaw or long paper cutter;
  • balloon;
  • 4 craft magnets;
  • gloves;
  • sandpaper,
  • gouache or acrylic paints, inscriptions and pictures for decoration.

The balloon must be inflated to a suitable size and tied with strong thread. Tear the paper into small pieces, soak it in glue and cover the ball in 2-3 layers. After each layer, you need to wait until the glue is completely dry, and only then apply the next one. When the top layer is dry, use a knife to cut a small hole, pierce the ball and pull out the pieces. Cover the hole with paper to prevent the plaster mixture from getting inside.

We recommend reading: Fish applique for junior, middle and senior groups - step-by-step master classes for beginners

The gypsum mixture must be prepared following the instructions indicated on the package. It is important to strictly observe the proportions of the dry mixture and water, otherwise the solution will turn out to be too liquid or too viscous. The solution hardens instantly, so you need to act quickly: apply it to the egg in a thin layer and smooth it out. You need to wear gloves when working: the gypsum mixture sticks to your hands.

When the plaster is dry, you can proceed to processing the egg:

  1. Using sandpaper, use gentle circular movements to sand the surface of the egg until smooth.
  2. Cut or saw the egg. It is more convenient to make a cross-section, closer to the narrow side of the egg. You will get 2 parts: a deep container and a lid.
  3. Glue 2 magnets inside the egg next to the cut, placing them one opposite the other. Glue 2 more magnets to the lid, placing them opposite the magnets in the egg.
  4. Cover the magnets with paper.
  5. Paint the egg, stick on inscriptions and pictures.

Now all that remains is to put the gift inside - and you can give the egg to the baby. To make the surprise even more unexpected, the egg can be hidden in a box or opaque bag.

Application of Kinder containers

We ate the chocolate egg, revealed the surprise, and what next? Don’t throw the box of Kinder toys into the trash...

What can be made from Kinder containers?

Toy minions (people who have watched this cartoon will understand). The overalls are made from a small piece of fabric and glued to the bottom of the container. For the eyes, you can use buttons, markers and other improvised materials.

Container for storing medicines. Such containers are very convenient to take on the road: for greater comfort, bottles of pills can be labeled with the names of specific drugs, so as not to open each container in search of the necessary medicine.

Salt shaker, sugar bowl and pepper shaker. The containers close tightly and are small in size, which is why they are convenient to take on a trip or on a picnic.

Container for beads, pins, buttons and fishing accessories.

Headphone case. Agree, it’s much better to store your headphones in a Kinder Surprise container than to untangle them every time.

Engagement ring case: This is perhaps the most romantic use.

In fact, there are many options for using Kinder containers, but we have listed the most popular ones in our article.

How to make a kinder surprise from chocolate?

Another option for a homemade surprise is a large chocolate egg. Such a gift is not only interesting, but also very tasty. And if you put sweets or small toys inside the egg, it will become just like store-bought, only much better.

To prepare the egg you will need:

  • 10-15 bars of dark chocolate
  • 10 white chocolate bars;
  • cream injector;
  • hair dryer;
  • filling mold or balloon;
  • a pair of rubber gloves;
  • deep plate, spoon.

You need to decide what will be used for filling - a special silicone or plastic mold, consisting of two halves, or a ball. Of course, it’s easier to work with a ready-made form. But to find it, you will have to go shopping or order it online. The ball is a cheap and accessible replacement, but working with it will require care.

The egg will harden in the refrigerator, this must be taken into account: if the surprise turns out to be too large, it may not fit between the shelves.

Cooking an egg in a mold

First you need to prepare the chocolate mass. To do this you should:

  1. Break the dark chocolate bars into small pieces, place them in a deep bowl and place it in a water bath.
  2. Stir with a spoon or spatula until the chocolate has completely melted. The mass must be removed from the heat and allowed to cool to room temperature. It should be viscous and homogeneous.
  3. Fill the syringe with cooled chocolate and apply the chocolate evenly to the walls of the mold.
  4. Place the mold in the refrigerator for 1-1.5 hours.
  5. While the chocolate in the mold is cooling, melt the white chocolate.
  6. Remove the mold, fill the syringe with white chocolate and cover the sides of the egg with a second layer. You should try to touch the mold with your hands as little as possible so that the chocolate does not melt from their heat. Be sure to use gloves.
  7. Place in the refrigerator again for 1 hour.
  8. The finished egg ladles need to be removed from the mold and a surprise placed in one half. Wash toys and other inedible gifts first with soap and water and rinse with clean water.
  9. Heat a spoon in hot water and run the back side along the edge of the egg halves, connecting them.
  10. Use the remaining dark chocolate to coat the joint area so that the halves stick together.

The egg is ready. To achieve complete resemblance to a factory Kinder Surprise, you should wrap it. For this you will need foil. From it you need to cut two pieces in the shape of an egg, adding 10 cm to them from the edges. Place the egg on one piece and fold the edges. Place the second one on top and press lightly. Stick the inscription “Kinder Surprise” on top, and the sweet gift is ready.

Cooking an egg using a ball

To cook an egg you will need a durable ball without patterns. It needs to be washed and dried from the inside (this can be done conveniently with a hair dryer). Prepare the chocolate mass and start creating the egg:

  1. Remove the tip from the syringe and pull the ball onto it. Pull out the plunger and inflate the balloon to the desired size.
  2. Using a spoon, pour the chocolate into the ball.
  3. The filled ball must be carefully tied and rotated until the chocolate is distributed evenly over the walls.
  4. The ball should be placed on a plate with its tail facing up.
  5. Prepare white chocolate.
  6. When the ball hardens, remove the workpiece.
  7. Cut off the top, remove the ball, being careful not to damage the walls of the egg.
  8. Distribute white chocolate along the walls, making sure to spread the top as well.
  9. Place in the refrigerator again.
  10. Place a gift into the finished egg, connect and seal the halves.
  11. Pack the kinder surprise as in the first preparation option, or come up with your own packaging option.

Coca-Cola egg

A unique and interesting product. Almost everyone likes it, especially children.

List of components:

  • food gelatin;
  • Coca Cola;
  • syringe;
  • stationery clips, paper clips (5-7 pieces);
  • container for a gift (a box from the original kinder);
  • egg mold (packaging from “Kinder JOY”);
  • scissors;
  • dishes (deep bowl, glass).

Having collected all the necessary components, we begin to create the structure.

The first step is to create the material to form the Kinder shell. Mix half a glass of Cola with a tablespoon of gelatin and leave for 15-20 minutes. After allowing the solution to swell, place it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. Now the consistency for the shell is ready.

Next, we begin to form the egg shell. Take one of the halves of the Kinder JOY package, pour 1 tablespoon of Cola solution, leave it in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to harden. At this time, we prepare a container for the gift, take a jar from the original Kinder and place the desired surprise in it. Take half the package with the frozen Cola solution, add another 1-1.5 tablespoons of the solution and place the container with the gift in it. Place in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes .

Let's start forming a whole egg. First, you need to make a small hole in the second half of the Kinder JOY with scissors. Using paper clips, we connect both parts of the “Kinder JOY”. Through the hole made in one of the parts, using a syringe, we completely fill the package with cola solution. Place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. After complete hardening, remove the plastic packaging. Carefully pack the resulting gelatin egg in foil and attach a label. Kinder from Coca-Cola is ready.

Such a hand-made gift will be very original and unusual; it can be given for any occasion, because it is possible to place absolutely any surprise in it - not only for children, but also for adults.

To surprise your baby for any holiday, you need to turn on your imagination ☺️. An original option would be to present a gift in a very large Kinder Surprise egg, made with your own hands. This craft is empty inside and you can put various sweets or a toy in it ✨️.

Making a large Kinder Surprise out of paper step by step with your own hands

A huge Kinder is the embodiment of dreams and delight for every child! They are especially loved for the surprises that are hidden inside, and we can fill this egg with those gifts and sweets that your child loves most. The shell or shell is made using the papier-mâché technique, I think every parent became familiar with this technique in school, so anyone can create this masterpiece!

We will need:

  • Balloon - 1 pc.
  • Paper (A4 form, newspaper)
  • PVA glue
  • Starch or flour for gluestar
  • Gouache paint
  • Brush
  • Water
  • Printout with inscription

Manufacturing process:

  1. As you probably already guessed, our Kinder is made from paper and a balloon; we will paste the paper over the balloon. You can use PVA or paste as glue.

Important! To prepare the paste, mix tbsp. spoon of corn starch, with 2 tbsp. spoons of tap water, stir so that there are no lumps. Then pour half a glass of boiling water over the mixture, stir and place the dishes on the fire, stirring continuously until our paste thickens. Remove from heat. stirring persistently, cool and that’s it - our paste is ready!

I use PVA glue, first diluted with a small amount of water.

2. We inflate the balloon to the size we need, tie it with thread so that after we can untie it. Place it in a bowl or other container for ease of handling.

3. 1st layer - paper + water. We cut the paper into small squares or strips, dip them in water and cover our ball. You need to do everything intensively, as the water dries out quickly and the leaves will simply begin to peel off.

Important! You can replace the paper with newspapers or magazines, and cover only the last layer with white!

In this way we cover the entire ball and let it stand for 5 minutes and dry.

4. We glue the next layer using PVA glue or paste. We coat our ball with glue and glue the second layer of paper.

5. Then generously coat the third layer of paper with glue and glue and leave our egg overnight so that it dries thoroughly.

Important! There should be enough glue to soak the paper well!

I left the ball to dry near the battery in a container with holes. You can dry it by tying it with a string, but I found reviews that when the ball hangs, wrinkles may appear during the drying process and I didn’t take any risks.

We recommend reading: Hand knitting: technique and recommendations

6. The ball dried out overnight. Next we need to remove the balloon, to do this you just need to untie it or cut off the “tail” so that it deflates and carefully pull it out. Now you need to seal the resulting hole.

7. The next day I glued 3 layers of paper again and now my kinders are drying out, although they are quite strong and perhaps 3 layers would be enough.

8. The next step is painting our craft. Immediately paint the lower part red, having previously drawn out the waves with a simple pencil, and then the upper part white. You can paint with gouache, acrylic paint or water-based paint

Important! Add a little PVA to the gouache so that the paint does not stick to your hands and does not crack when drying.

9. Then you need to glue the inscription or draw the letters yourself. The easiest way is, of course, to print it, you can do it in color or black and white, and then color it yourself, so it will turn out the most realistic. Or attach a white piece of paper to the monitor and circle the letters.

For you, I will leave the inscription in 2 options, and you choose the one that is convenient for you:

  • in color
  • black and white

10. Now you need to cut each word and glue it separately.

11. This is what Kinder ends up looking like

12. Now you need to make a door in the egg and fill it with a gift. Using a stationery knife, cut it into a square or round shape; for beauty, you can tie it with a ribbon.

Or you can even carefully cut off the top of the kinder, this is at your discretion.

As a result, we should end up with a large egg like this:

Really, it makes a great gift, doesn't it? It can be given as a gift for the New Year, for a birthday, or for any occasion! You can also make the kinder personalized, glue your child’s favorite cartoon characters on it, write a wish, and in a word, there’s room for your imagination to run wild!

You can make not only a kinder, but also a large mmdms or a smiley.

Papier-mâché technique

To create a package in the shape of a large egg, you will need to make papier-mâché. This technique involves gluing paper onto a template - an object whose shape needs to be repeated. In this case, you will need the shape of a huge egg, which can be achieved using a balloon.

The papier-mâché technique was invented in China, from where it spread to France and became famous throughout the world. Initially, it became popular in France thanks to decorative items from China and Japan, which quickly attracted attention and became popular in Europe.

What items were created

This simple and accessible technique made it possible to create various three-dimensional objects that were decorated with painting, embossing and varnishing.

Thanks to this technique, the following items were made:

  • Decorative stucco for walls and ceilings.
  • Some pieces of furniture.
  • Theater props.
  • Masks.
  • Snuff boxes.
  • Dishes.
  • Caskets.
  • Trays.
  • Dummies.
  • Dolls.
  • Frames.
  • Vases.
  • Bijouterie.
  • New Year's toys.

Currently, this technique is often used in theater and cinema. Dummies of various objects are made that look almost no different from the real thing, as well as parts of stage costumes. This technique is also used for the production of factory products, for example, some types of lamps.

Ways to use technology

There are several methods that are used to create various products:

  • Layer-by-layer gluing of pieces of paper onto the prepared template.
  • A special mass is used, which is made from paper, glue and chalk. This mass is used for modeling, and objects are also made from it using molds into which the mass is poured.
  • Sheets of cardboard are glued together and pressed. When the product blank is completely dry, it is sanded, painted and varnished. In this way, the most durable products are created.

To make papier-mâché Kinder Surprise, the method of gluing paper pieces onto a ball is suitable.

Master class paper eggs

The master class will tell you how to make a huge kinder surprise from papier-mâché. It should be noted that working on papier-mâché will take several days, since the layers of glued paper will need to be dried well, otherwise the craft will be deformed. So, how to make a kinder surprise out of paper?

Keychain case for Chupa Chups size sweets made from Kinder

Quite an interesting and original fake, in which there will be a lot of imagination. Fake kinders look very interesting and original, and this is especially well emphasized by a keychain for your favorite sweets.

What we need:

  • 1 container,
  • awl,
  • Paints,
  • Nail polish,
  • Felt-tip pens\markers.

And to choose from:

  • Threads or rings with carabiners for a keychain.

We take our container and make a hole in it the size of a lollipop tube, and on the other side, where the lid is, we also make a small hole using an awl.

What's next? Everything is simple, in fact, with these simple two steps you have already made a finished case. All that remains is to give it an individual idea and the keychain is ready. You can put both closed candy in the case and leave the tasty treat “for later.”

Homemade kinder surprise made from paper

You can first add water to PVA glue.

To make a huge egg you will need:

  • printed inscription;
  • water;
  • balloon;
  • A4 paper;
  • newspaper;
  • PVA glue;
  • paints (gouache);
  • water;
  • to prepare the paste, starch or flour;
  • brush.

Steps to make an egg:

  1. The balloon is inflated to the required size and tied with thread so that it can be untied later.
  2. To make it more convenient to work with the ball, it must be placed in some container.
  3. Apply the first layer, which consists of water and paper. The paper is cut into small squares. Then dip each square in water and place it on the ball. This is how the entire surface is covered. All actions must be carried out at a fast pace, as the water dries quickly and the sheets of paper will begin to fall off. Instead of paper, you can use newspapers. Then the ball is covered with white paper last.
  4. After the entire ball is covered, you need to let it stand for 5 minutes to dry.
  5. The next layer consists of glue or homemade paste and paper. The ball is generously coated with adhesive and a second layer of paper is glued on. In order for the paper to be well saturated, you need a lot of glue or paste.
  6. Next, the future egg is also generously coated with glue and a third layer of paper is glued on.
  7. Leave the egg overnight to dry completely. It is best to dry near the radiator.
  8. After the paper has completely dried, the stage of removing the ball begins. To do this, the tail is untied or cut off, and then the ball is carefully removed. The resulting hole must be sealed.
  9. The next day, three layers are glued again and dried again.
  10. Then you should paint the egg: to do this, draw a wavy line on the lower part with a simple pencil, and then paint it with red gouache. The upper part is painted white gouache. Instead of gouache, you can use acrylic paints or water-based emulsion. It is worth adding PVA glue to gouache paints, then the paint will not crack or stick to your hands while it dries.
  11. Next step: make an inscription. You can print it on a color printer or draw the letters yourself and color them. In your own performance it will look more real. You can attach a piece of paper to the monitor and trace the letters. Then cut each word and glue it individually.
  12. Next, a “door” is made in the egg. Its shape can be square or round. Cut with a stationery knife. Inside is filled with a gift.

You can write the child's name on the egg or stick your favorite cartoon characters on it, or you can make it in the form of a smiley face or mmdms. By applying varnish the surface can be made glossy.
