We make mosquito traps with our own hands: simple and electric, outdoor and home

Summer has come, and with it came numerous flying insects, which are difficult to combat manually given the very small size of these creatures. But a radio amateur can automate this by assembling a simple design for a high-voltage insect repellent lamp, which can be assembled in one day.

This lamp helps control fruit flies, mosquitoes, moths and other insects. Of course, it does not guarantee 100% protection from mosquitoes, but together with mosquito nets and other simple methods it creates a truly well-coordinated team. This lamp really works great in enclosed spaces where mosquitoes roam at night.

The basis is a special 4 W fluorescent lamp, a converter, 20 centimeter wooden pegs and round bases. All the electronics were hidden in the lamp. This bulb is adapted to 220 V, it is a special fluorescent lamp that is used in all small insecticidal lamps.

Homemade fly swatter with insect shooting function

Today I want to tell you about how you can make a fly swatter at home with the function of shooting insects.

To begin with, I suggest you watch a video on how to make this device.

This concerns killing insects with your own efforts, and now I will tell you about this “shooting function”.

So, you need to take an elastic band (you can take it like an ordinary elastic band, but it’s better, of course, to take a thicker one) and carefully pull it as shown in the photo (by the way, you can pull several elastic bands so that there are several “shots”).

Due to the fact that by pressing the button you lower the lever down, you suddenly release the elastic from the tension and it quickly flies to the target, thereby causing damage to your insect.

The fly swatter is quite compact; we tighten the slipper and the rod with an elastic band and store the fly swatter. And you can practically store the “attachments” with which you kill targets in the sneaker itself.

Peculiarities

A mosquito trap can be made from a plastic bottle. It works due to the fact that insects flock to the carbon dioxide released by the fermentation of baker's yeast (but there is also a yeast-free option). Carbon dioxide is exhaled by animals and people, which is why they attract mosquitoes. But it is possible to create an alternative source of carbon dioxide by deceiving dipterans.

By the way, about why mosquitoes fly to people. They are attracted not only by the carbon dioxide released, but also by the heat. They also focus on moving objects. When a mosquito flies by and a person hears its buzzing, he hears the sound of the insect's wings - they work so quickly.

There is an opinion that the buzzing of wings is an attractive moment for individuals of the opposite sex, but for humans it only irritates them.

When a mosquito lands on a person's skin, it gently taps it with its proboscis. True, if the proboscis is examined under a microscope, it rather resembles a stigma. Raising its hairy lip, the insect carefully plunges a stiletto, hollow inside, into human skin. He uses it to feel small capillaries and suck out blood, which lasts less than a minute. But first it releases a substance into the blood that prevents it from clotting. Interestingly, he is able to swallow an amount of blood that is 4 times larger than himself.

A person doesn’t even feel the first bite in his life, but then the body reacts to the proteins of the mosquito, which it releases along with a special substance into the blood. The bite site will itch and swell. And to prevent this from happening, you just need to prevent mosquitoes from getting close to people.

Homemade devices help reorient the insect. When yeast ferments, sugar becomes alcohol and releases carbon dioxide, which is a strong attraction for mosquitoes. The bait works in nature and is considered quite effective. There are several ways to make it, but all require the simplest plastic bottle.

Principle of operation

An electric fly swatter resembles a tennis or badminton racket in appearance. It has a handle and head, just like a regular fly swatter. There is a cover on the handle that hides two small batteries that power the “gadget.” The head is equipped with a three-layer mesh of metal electrical rods.

Main characteristics of the product:

Advantages of an electric fly swatter over a conventional one:

The price of a fly swatter on Aliexpress is 294 rubles, while in domestic country goods stores its cost is set between 500 and 1000 rubles.

Numerous positive customer reviews indicate the high quality of the product and its effectiveness in controlling flying pests. Based on this, we can conclude that the price-quality ratio is most optimal in the Aliexpress hypermarket.

How to use an electric fly swatter - video

An electric fly swatter can be called an innovative device on our market. With small but sure steps, this device is replacing aerosols, adhesive tape traps, baits and even the good old newspaper rolled into a tube. Externally, the device resembles a badminton racket with a comfortable long handle. Only the mesh is woven not from fishing line, but from thin metal wire. This is the working surface of the electric fly swatter.

The pseudo-racket is designed according to the sandwich rule: a positively charged fine grid in the center of the device is surrounded on both sides by coarse-mesh grids with a negative charge. The insect falls into the hole and is trapped. By touching the “core”, a fly or mosquito provokes an electric discharge and themselves becomes victims of the current.

The voltage inside the working surface (grid) reaches 2000-3000 volts (depending on the model). A blocking generator is built into the electric fly swatter, which converts the modest voltage of AA batteries into such a powerful indicator.

Accordingly, if a person accidentally touches the metal mesh, he will only feel a sensitive tingling sensation, nothing more (remember the birds sitting on the wires). However, to get to the “core”, you will have to remove two protective meshes on the sides, so contact with the high voltage zone is almost impossible.

Plain water

Homemade mosquito traps

The action is based on the method of mosquito reproduction. This variety will not prevent the female from pre-drinking blood. This is an outdoor trap that will help control the bloodsucker population.

The scheme for making a mosquito trap based on the principle of a pond is more complicated than just a trap with carbon dioxide. For such a device you need a large bottle in which the water will evaporate slowly.

  1. The neck is cut off.
  2. Holes are made in the bottle to drain excess water and sealed with scraps of window mesh. If desired, you can make two more holes above the first ones to attach a carrying handle to them.
  3. The bottle is painted black to achieve the effect of a dark, standing pond.
  4. A fleecy cloth is wound over the top of the cut bottle so that it also covers the inside. The top of the bottle is also covered with a window net.
  5. Water is poured into the bottle until it begins to pour out through the drain holes. The fabric is also wetted from the outside and inside.

Important!

The fabric should always be wet.

Mosquitoes, mistaking the trap for a body of water, lay eggs on the net. The hatched larvae fall into the water, but cannot escape from the trap after completing the development cycle.

Mosquitoes prefer “blooming” water, so you need to throw a bunch of grass into the trap to infect the liquid with green algae.

How effective are electric insect killers?

Lamp-based electric exterminators can indeed be very effective in exterminating flying insects indoors, provided that the device is selected taking into account the area that needs to be protected.

With a low number of cockroaches and constant updating of the bait, the electronic exterminator-house also shows good results, however, the tangible effect of reducing the population may not appear immediately, but only after a few days.

But against ants, such an electric trap usually turns out to be not very effective, since it destroys only working individuals looking for something to profit from, while the queen in the anthill continues to actively lay more and more new eggs.

It should also be borne in mind that if there are a large number of midges, for example, on the terrace in the evening, even a powerful lamp exterminator may not cope, and you may still be bitten by mosquitoes - in this case, it is useful to combine electric exterminators with repellents, for example, mosquito coils.

“The insect killer lamp didn’t help us. I don’t know, maybe we had some special conditions. We bought a good one, Italian, hung it in the bedroom, just to protect ourselves from mosquitoes, they were so dark in the evenings. But they chew even in front of her, and in the morning they die in the shredder. We ended up buying branded mesh for the windows and forgetting about the problem.”

As for electric fumigators, in general they do a good job of destroying flying insects indoors. And if you turn on such a fumigator in a closed cabinet, it will help get rid of not only moths, but also their larvae. However, in most cases, fumigators have virtually no effect on cockroaches, fleas, house ants and, even more so, bedbugs.

Electricity

Electric trap

The electric trap can be in three versions:

  • with a special lamp that emits carbon dioxide;
  • with an energy-saving “regular” lamp;
  • with fan.

In store-bought electric traps, a carbon dioxide lamp and a fan are combined. To make such a device yourself, you must have certain skills and a detailed assembly diagram.

The general scheme is:

  • cut off the top and bottom of a milk or juice carton;
  • Attach a small fan to the bottom so that the blades drive the air flow downward, and connect it to the wires;
  • Glue a gauze bag to the bottom of the bag;
  • attach a wire handle to the top, like a bucket;
  • Screw the socket with the light bulb to the handle;
  • hang up the device and plug it into the network.

This is a trap for mosquitoes and midges that fly at night. When the insects fly up to the light bulb, they will be sucked into the gauze bag by the fan. But they won’t necessarily die there, and the midges will also get out through the gauze into freedom.

A mosquito trap made from a plastic bottle and a lamp may be more reliable and easier to make. If the lamp is hot, the bottle must be large in diameter, otherwise the plastic will melt.

The design of such a trap is similar to a device with a yeast solution. But in the bottom of the bottle you need to cut a hole for the lamp socket. The lamp is inserted inside the bottle and the top hole is closed with a “funnel” with a neck. It is better to wrap the side walls with dark cloth to direct the insects to the right place. Once inside the bottle, mosquitoes will not be able to get back out. But they are unlikely to die. A lamp that produces carbon dioxide will increase the effectiveness of such a trap.

If it was not possible to kill mosquitoes using homemade devices, you should pay attention to easier-to-use means: fumigators, spirals, smoke bombs.

Each turn is separated from each other. The coil consists of 5 turns. We assemble everything according to the diagram, solder the elements. We insert an insulating gasket between the contacts of the high-voltage switch so that the spark is inside and not outside. We secure all the parts inside the case and close the case cover.

Safety requirements

Be especially careful - very high voltage! Perform all manipulations with the circuit only after turning off the power source. Do not use this electromagnetic shredder near medical equipment or other equipment on which human life may depend.

DIY electric fly swatter

Craftsmen have already tested methods for constructing analogues of factory-made fly swatters at home. The videos, which you can find on the Internet if you wish, describe and show in detail what can be used as a working base, how to properly insulate the handle, and what the electrical circuit is.

How to escape from annoying insects during a picnic or in an apartment? There are many recipes and methods, but not all of them are simple and convenient.

An electric fly swatter is an innovative device that allows you to quickly and effortlessly destroy mosquitoes, flies, horseflies, wasps and other “troublemakers.”

Manufacturing technology

There are several options to consider. The first is more common, using yeast.

With yeast

The plastic bottle should be cut along the perimeter of the circle so that the top with a cone-shaped figure is approximately one third of the length of the container as a whole. The water is heated to 30 degrees (maximum 40, but definitely not more, otherwise the yeast will die and will not work). Sugar is added to the water and the mixture is mixed. Then the yeast is sent there, and everything is mixed again.

The mixture, which will attract mosquitoes, is poured into a bottle. The part cut off with the neck is inserted on top. If it turns out that the joints do not fit tightly enough, you need to take tape or any adhesive tape and seal these areas. Carbon dioxide should have only one way out - a narrow neck. Otherwise, mosquitoes may collect on the outside of the plastic bottle.

Next, you need to wrap the bottle with dark cloth or paper. The density of the materials is not so important, the main thing is that they make the object dark and impenetrable. The material is fastened at the edges. It is recommended to place traps in dark corners of the room, veranda, garden - the place where they will be used. On the street, their use is expected to not be as effective.

When yeast ferments, sugar becomes alcohol and carbon dioxide, and dipterans flock to it. In addition, the trap generates heat, which also acts as bait. If foam is released during fermentation, it will have to be removed in a timely manner, otherwise it may block the neck. And a blocked neck means it is impossible for a mosquito to fly into the neck. The solution should be changed at least once a week, sometimes more often.

This method has a main advantage: the trap makes no noise at all, but electric analogues cannot boast of this (not all of them are accurate). The main disadvantage of the trap is the specific smell associated with the fermentation process. This is why many are looking for alternative options without using yeast. And they are.

Yeast-free

An option for a liquid that will be harmful to mosquitoes is vegetable oil. You will need 3-4 plastic bottles, 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil (the quality does not matter, it can be simpler), scissors.

Making such a trap with your own hands is quite simple.

  1. Cut off the tops of the bottles slightly below the neck.
  2. Grease large parts of the container inside with vegetable oil.
  3. Place baits in places where mosquitoes accumulate as much as possible, holes are made on the sides, and ropes are pulled in if bottles need to be hung. All this can be done quickly and easily at home.

If you want to act comprehensively, and there is no hope only for a trap, it’s time to make additional mosquito repellers. If you combine different devices, the effect will undoubtedly increase. For example, you can use bouquets of wormwood and tansy, the smell of which insects cannot stand. They do not like the smell of bird cherry leaves, fresh cloves, lavender sprigs, as well as mint and lemon balm.

If you spray a room (veranda/summer kitchen) with valerian, the number of winged uninvited guests will also decrease.

If you place pots of blooming pelargonium on the windowsills, mosquitoes will not fly into such spaces. And even simple rosemary acts as a strong repellent on them. You can set fire to pharmaceutical chamomile to fumigate the room, or take pine or spruce cones, juniper needles, or lavender shoots. These plants are also ideal for fumigation. And on the street you can throw them into the fire so that mosquitoes do not disturb your evening by the fire.

Before going to bed, you can drop a drop of camphor oil at the head of the bed - this will ensure a restful sleep without annoying buzzing. And if you dilute a little vanillin in a small amount of water and cover yourself with this liquid, mosquitoes will fly around you on the street.

A trap plus plant repellers work effectively and provide greater guarantees than using each of the proposed methods alone.

Let the problem be resolved faster, and nothing will disturb the delights of summer evenings and peaceful sleep on warm nights!

Application in radio electronics: heating a soldering iron tip

A classic example of using DIY projects is radio electronics . It is rare to meet an amateur who has never held a soldering iron in his hands and has not encountered circuits. When working with elements on printed circuit boards, especially if the equipment is inexpensive, you have to overcome a number of inconveniences. For example, overheating of a soldering iron, which can lead to a whole range of undesirable consequences (carbon deposits):

To avoid this, many homemade products have been invented. There is a successful and inexpensive option for controlling the temperature of the tip. A simple craft diagram makes it possible to regulate the voltage. A rectifier bridge is used, which allows you to increase the voltage from 220 V to 310 V. Relevant for those who have low voltage at home.

Convenience is that you can customize it to suit your needs and for a specific operation. A dimmer for a chandelier is a good choice as a regulator. If you don’t have one at hand, you can also make it yourself. It is necessary to check the compliance of the position of the electric regulator with the specific performance of the soldering iron (temperature).

Homemade homemade product is quite effective, but has a drawback. The temperature range that can be installed will be small. Although, if desired, the omission can be eliminated. It is enough to supplement the craft circuit with a resistor for fine tuning.

What is an electric fly swatter and how does it work?

An effective device for combating flying aggressors looks like a regular badminton racket. The main difference is that instead of the usual strong fishing line, a metal mesh is stretched over the plastic body.

This material is there for a reason. An electric discharge passes through thin rods

, killing insects. The electric field created above the surface of the racket leaves no chance for a fly, a mosquito, or even a bumblebee.

There is an LED flashlight on the handle. The backlight helps you hunt for insects in the dark.

Options for replacing an electric rat trap with other types of traps

No matter how simple and convenient electric rat traps are, in many cases one or another of their shortcomings does not allow home owners to use them.

In such cases, more traditional means can be used with the same reliability:

A good option (if used correctly and carefully) is poison for rats and mice. They are very inexpensive, effective, and if placed in bait houses, they are quite safe - neither children nor pets can get them.

If you have personal experience using electric rat traps, be sure to share the information by leaving your review at the bottom of this page.

The appearance of mice in the house is a problem that requires drastic measures. You need to get rid of rodents, because they spread dangerous infections (including parasitic ones) and spoil food. An effective way to deal with uninvited guests is an electric mousetrap, which eliminates animals using a high-voltage discharge.

Mosquito and horsefly repeller Help

A powerful stationary ultrasonic device for use indoors and outdoors. It also, like its analogues, generates ultrasonic waves and imitates the sounds of a male attracting a female to mate. This is precisely what fertilized females fear, trying to move away from the source of the signal as quickly as possible.

  • The device does not emit toxic substances, which makes it ideal for protecting areas where children are present.
  • Compact, energy efficient, does not require additional elements or settings.
  • Does not cause malfunction of household appliances located in the apartment.

The approximate cost of the device is 500-700 rubles.

Customer Reviews

Many people have already purchased this simple and effective device. What do buyers think about the electric fly swatter?

Anya, Moscow

“I read the description of the new device on the Internet and immediately thought that this was another advertising gimmick. I asked my husband for advice. He said that the process described in the instructions is quite realistic.

I bought a miracle racket. Works great. You sit, wave at her, and the mosquitoes “fry” without any problems. A good thing. I recommend."

Andrey, Ekaterinburg

“I saw this thing at my neighbors’ place. They said it copes well with flies. I bought it and gave it to my wife. It turned out to be a really effective device. If there are a lot of midges, you don’t have to give a shock every time. Press the button immediately and swing the racket. The grid will be constantly energized.”

Ivan Arkadievich, Tula

“In the summer I live at the dacha. Insects sometimes get to you. My daughter brought me a device that resembled a simple badminton racket.

Now I don’t know grief. In the evening, in the gazebo, I swing a racket, fortunately it is very light, mosquitoes die instantly. I'm glad that regular AA batteries are required for power supply. The electric fly swatter is charged from 220 V.”

Stun gun and entomology

Shocker for catching insects

I think everyone knows what a shocker is, but many will be introduced to the concept of “entomology” for the first time. Entomology is the science of insects, and often those same duremars with nets are by no means batanists, but entomologists. The object of study of entomologists is insects, all kinds of butterflies, beetles, wasps, dragonflies and other flying creatures. It is important for entomologists to obtain insects intact for study, and with some species of butterflies this causes great difficulties.

Personally, I collect butterflies and go on forays to buy new specimens to replenish my collection. Now the collection contains more than 700 butterflies of various species. The vast majority of my collection are moths (no, not prostitutes), namely species that lead an active lifestyle at night. Anyone who has ever tried to pick up a moth knows how difficult it is to maintain the integrity of the wings and “coat”. And if the butterfly does not exceed 1 cm in size, then it is generally impossible not to wipe off all the “pollen” from it. For this purpose, I have been using a stun gun for several years, a weakened version that perfectly paralyzes insects. I first started using such a device in 2010, then converted it into a more compact version, and wrote this article in 2011.

The process of catching insects with light traps.

Now let's move on directly to the shocker and what the requirements will be for it.

1. Partial or complete paralysis/death of an insect without breaking the cover of its body. (Namely, so that the same butterfly does not have its antennae or wings burnt)

2. Small sizes.

3. Low voltage power supply. (3.7 volt 1 battery).

In order to achieve paralysis without consequences, 1 capacitor and 1 diode rectifier were used in the high-voltage part. The Soviet capacitor 0.1 microns * 1000V (reserve up to 5 kV) is very resistant to overcharging, unlike epcos and Chinese counterparts. In the absence of Soviet Conders, you can use a pack of Chinese 0.68mk 630v 4-5 pcs in series.

The boosting part must be powered by a single battery (in our case, we are striving for small size and low power), so we will use either a blocking or multivibrator type inverter.

Scheme:

For the optimal option, use scheme No. 1 (which is higher); if you need to not only paralyze the insect, but also fry it, use scheme No. 2. For more stable operation, you can put a 10-15 turns inductor in the gap (+), on a ring that can be pulled from the old motherboard.

Pinout of bipolar and field-effect transistors.

Features of the circuit: Both are simple and should work immediately after collection. It is important not to confuse the phasing of the wires . If you mix it up in the first circuit, it simply won’t start; if in the second, one transistor will run idle and the other will get very hot. I also do not recommend running the arms directly from the transformer, there is a high risk of burning the field wires.

Details:

Transistors: kt805, kt819, irf3205, irfz44, irf540. (The most convenient option is kt819, irfz44)

Resistors 100-300 ohms. In the second scheme they should be the same.

Diodes: fr102, fr202, r3000, r5000, kts106g (the last 3 are installed one at a time)

Storage capacitor: 0.1 microns 1000V SOVIET (reserve more than 5 kV). Or collect from several Chinese up to a denomination of 5 square meters.

Transformer: On a ferrite armored core with a diameter of 2-3 cm. First, the secondary is wound about 700 turns with a wire of 0.1 - 0.08 mm, in bulk, without insulation, layer by layer, preferably as tightly as possible. After winding, it is insulated and heated in liquid medical paraffin. Then the primary 4+4 (3+3) with a 0.2-0.3 mm wire.

Power: One lithium-ion battery - 3.7V, or 3 AA batteries (as was the case in my case)

Device:

The principle is this: we accumulate a charge by holding it for about 1 second, then we catch an insect on the antennae (electrodes) of your shocker. The capacitor is discharged, paralyzing the insect, leaving it safe and sound. However, high power can damage the insect, making it unsuitable for collection. The design is very simple.

The idea is not new; in general, all kinds of electric fly swatters, electric traps, and mosquito nets have been on sale for a long time. Now, knowing their operating principle, you can assemble them with your own hands.

Fly trap, price 800-2500 rub.

Electric fly swatter, 500-1000 rub. (Advantage – does not smear fly guts on the wallpaper)

A little more about the blue lamp in the trap, the fact is that insects see in ultraviolet light, and UV lamps are most effective at attracting them. They are used in traps.

Ultraviolet lamps 4 W.

Is it possible to make a miracle fly swatter yourself?

Some home craftsmen disassemble a device that destroys insects using electrical discharges and try to create a similar homemade device from improvised materials. Parts from old TVs, power supplies, electrodes and other parts are used.

An inquisitive mind is a great thing, but in the case of an electric fly swatter, experimentation is inappropriate. They can end badly.

Some would-be experimenters try to give advice on how to make an electric fly swatter with your own hands. But at the end of the description of their experiments they always add: “Do not repeat this experiment! Potentially life threatening! A useful thing, although catching a lonely annoying fly is not so easy - you have to jump. You also need to be careful not to grab the fly swatter with wet hands, and during the fishing process it is better not to let anyone hang around nearby. Question. Is it safe to use a fly swatter for people with an implanted pacemaker?

I work in a cafe, and we have electric fly swatters hanging in our kitchen. This is: firstly, convenient (adhesive tapes are a thing of the last century, they spoil the entire appearance of the kitchen); secondly, it is hygienic. The probability that the corpses of dead insects will fall out of there is zero. I can’t imagine how craftsmen manage to make such things from improvised means, and why? The market offers a large selection to suit every taste and budget.

Everyone is familiar with a regular fly swatter, and especially with the stains it leaves on clean walls and ceilings. Sometimes because of this you don’t even want to touch those annoying insects. But finally, the Chinese thought of making a device for killing mosquitoes, where everything happens cleanly and efficiently - an electric fly swatter. The principle of operation is simple, you press and hold the button in the center of the handle, after which you just need to hit or simply touch the flying insect with the net. A discharge flashes with a bang, destroying flies, mosquitoes, wasps and other flying insects. An electric fly swatter looks like a regular tennis racket. Comfortable handle and a flashlight. There are AA batteries installed inside, a metal line in the form of a mesh is stretched, when you press a button, high voltage is applied to this network, move it with a racket - the insect is killed on the fly.

conclusions

Advantages

: perfectly kills insects on the fly, has a compact size, independent power supply from rechargeable batteries, high efficiency in insect control, no chemicals or odors.

Flaws

: the probability of receiving an electric shock by accidentally touching a metal mesh.

Electric fly swatter

- a worthy replacement for outdated fly swatters, which will bring pleasure when hunting for harmful flying insects.

How to make your own noisemaker to neutralize loud noise from bad neighbors? The proposed jammer is designed for local suppression of TV and FM radio signals. I would like to immediately remind you that for creating artificial interference the fine is 20-70 minimum wages, with confiscation of technical equipment, Art. 139-3 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

How the device works

The working area of the fly swatter is a three-layer mesh of energized metal wires. All you need to do is a few swings of the racket in the air. Depending on the model, an LED flashlight may be built into the handle, which can be used either as part of an electric fly swatter or separately. The principle of operation of the device is that when a flying insect hits the working surface of a metal grid, an electrical discharge occurs, sufficient to destroy the insect, but safe for humans.

The circuit may vary greatly depending on the manufacturer, but its essence does not change - as a high-voltage part of the converter, from 5-6 volt batteries to several thousand volts. Don’t let this figure scare you, the current there is small, just like that of an electric lighter, so it won’t cause any harm even if you accidentally touch the grid. In different models, power is supplied either from rechargeable batteries or from AA batteries. In the first case, the circuit contains a block of the simplest transformerless charger.

Repellents

Repellents, whose name comes from the Latin word and translates as “repel” or “drive away,” are personal protective equipment. They are most often produced in the form of sprays and aerosols that are applied to clothing or skin. There are also creams and lotions, spray lotions. Repellents contain components of natural and chemical origin - alcohols, essential oils with strong odors, pyrethroids, diethyl phthalate. They drown out the pheromones of the human body, and an odor unpleasant to mosquitoes begins to emanate from it. Repellents based on pyrethroids belong to a new generation and are safer. But there are not many of them on the market yet, which is why the price for such protection is quite high. There are repellents with mixed effects. For example, against mosquitoes and ticks. Most often they are made on the basis of alphacypermethrin, that is, a poison with a nerve-paralytic effect.

The first category in terms of duration of work includes drugs that contain 30–40% of the active component. They last up to 5 hours and are not recommended for use by pregnant women, children, or people with allergies. The second category includes those whose validity period is up to 3 hours. The amount of active substance in them does not exceed 20 - 25%. The shortest working life is for drugs containing a toxic substance in a volume of 5 - 10% - up to 2 hours. These are approved for use even by pregnant women and children.

Popular sprays include Moskitol, Gardex, Stop Mosquito, and Deta-prof. Aerosols should not be sprayed onto wounds; they must be reapplied after swimming. Do not spray near fire. Reapply after 2 - 3 hours. Avoid getting the product in your eyes and be sure to wash the product off your skin after a walk. It is best to purchase repellents at a pharmacy.
